Parker Schnabel is going all in in this one, he just bought a tens of millions of dollars worth of land and he and his team are going to risk everything in search for financial freedom in the following episodes of Gold Rush Season 14. Meanwhile, an old prospector we know from previous seasons, named Rick Ness is coming back to the show seeking redemption. All this and more will unfold in the upcoming chapters.
Bear in mind that this piece includes spoilers for context for episode two of this gold prospecting show. And if you don’t like spoilers, please go and watch the show first and then come back to contrast your opinion of the show with our recap. I don’t like ruining the fun for everyone. Now setting that aside, let’s see how the return of Rick Ness unfolds.
Gold Rush Season 14 Episode 2 Recap
If the premiere of Gold Rush Season 14 was fun, episode two was even better. Guess what? Rick Ness is back to the Yukon and he’s seeking to redeem his bearded self. After that, Tony Beets had a death in the family as he was looking for nearly 6K ounces worth of it all. Meanwhile, Parker Schnabel went —as all poker players say: “All in”, which means risk it all.
Parker went all in by buying a huge plot of virgin land that’s supposedly full of gold for the whopping price of fifteen million dollars but digging all that gold is not going to be easy. It’s not the “dig and find” approach, he must employ heavy machinery and lots of man power and even more man-hours.
The challenges all over Dominion Creek are there, that place has been heavily impacted by mining activity and as Parker points out in a confessional, that makes costs even higher. I mean, the man just spent fifteen million, and there’s thousands of dollars that go in operating costs. Let’s just hope he can break even and have his return on investment. Parker Schabel’s team digs deep with huge excavators, about 45 feet deep beneath the surface, that extraction implies millions in operation expenses.
