The supernatural manga Undead Unluck is finally getting the much-awaited anime adaptation this fall 2023 season. The Shounen manga was released in 2020 by author Yoshifumi Tozuka. It managed to get the attention of the readers with its action- and comedy-centric story.

Undead Unluck follows the story of Fuuko, who decides to kill herself by jumping from the bridge in front of a railway track.
After reading her favorite Shoujo manga, she realized she could never have the kind of love story as the main characters of the manga.
Many people gather around the bridge; they try to convince her that she is still young and that it’s just a rash decision.
When she tells them, anybody who touches her body ends up getting killed. It sparks the curiosity of an undead guy who comes forward and touches her.
He ends up getting run over by the train but manages to regenerate his body. He tells Fuuko they have something in common and begins to follow her around.
Fuuko’s unlucky stroke started ten years ago when she was eight years old. Fuuko went to see her parents, who were going abroad on a business trip.
They hugged her lots of times before leaving because they were going to be abroad for a whole week. But ten minutes after they boarded the flight, their plane encountered an unexpected engine malfunction.
The plane exploded right there, and all the passengers on the plane, including her parents, died on the spot. She learned after they passed away that when people touched her, they ended up getting hurt.
However, the degree varies according to how much skin contact they had. Fuuko learned soon after that she was the reason why her parents died.
Andy learned that someone who touches her bear skin or hugs her gets hit by the biggest strokes of unluck. Andy wanted to test out if her theory was correct, so he hugged her tightly instead of dying.
A crate of bananas landed on his body from the top. Fuuko slipped on a banana and was about to die, but she regretted dying like that.
Since she had not experienced anything in her life, Andy caught her mid-air and saved her life because he wanted her power to give him a real death.
