My Messy Marriage Chapter 49 Recap

The last chapter of My Messy Marriage opens with Soran. It appears that Soran wants to reach somewhere. It was raining heavily outside, and she was running while talking to herself.

She says, “Oh! Seongjun must be waiting for me!” Suddenly, a man stood behind her and tried to attack her. As expected, it scared the hell out of Soran, and she kept running.

The man says, “It’s all your fault!” She didn’t stop and kept running. She says, “What the heck?! Who is that man?!” Just as it seemed that he would catch her, Seongjun appeared from nowhere. He kicked on his face and protected Soran from him. He says, “Are you okay?” She says, “Yeah!”

Afterwards, we see that the man takes a knife from his pocket. It appears he would use that weapon to hurt Soran and Seongjun. Instead of attacking them, he ran away. We believe he got scared of Seongjun.

Kang-ho Baek runs to catch that man, but Soran suggests he shouldn’t go after him. But he ignored her and ran toward him.

The panel shifts to the house of Seongjun. We see Soran, Seongjun, and Kang-ho Baek sitting together. They were talking about the previous incident. Seongjun says, “I ran after him to try and catch him… but as you know, there’s a shanty town in Geumbu, and the streets are pretty complicated.”

He escaped from him by climbing the wall of someone’s house. On top of that, Seongjun fell from the second story while trying to dodge his knife attack.

Seongjun accepts his mistake for being too reckless. Soranas appreciates his help in saving her life from the man. Seongjun said she saved a kid from the fire in the past, and in comparison to that it wasn’t a big deal.

Kang-ho Baek decides to reveal a secret about himself. In the next panel, Kang-ho tells them about the kid Soran saved from the fire. That kid was him. Both of his friends looked shocked after hearing this from Kang-ho.

Afterwards, we learn from Soran that Kang-ho had saved her life, too. She believes it’s not a coincidence. According to her, “They have a special connection and are destined to cross paths.” She got emotional after hearing this from him, and her eyes weted.

In the next panel, we see Kang-ho presenting her with a necklace as a birthday present. She was impressed with Kang-ho’s choice. She says, “Oh, my gosh, it’s beautiful.”

Kang-ho says, “Now that I’m looking at it, I don’t really like it.” He asked her, ‘Why? It’s gorgeous!’ Grandpa bought you a building as a present. And a necklace doesn’t come near to that.
