After finding out that Gojo Satoru, our beloved character who is well known for his amazing god-level powers, fans of the series are really excited to find out what is going to happen next in the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 237.
The last chapter basically already shows us as it starts because we see Gojo in the afterlife ethereal plane with his diseased Jujutsu High friends, and that is because Gojo himself is dead. I know this is wild and out of the blue, like a huge shock, because in the previous chapter, it was kind of the opposite.
He was alive, and he was being declared the winner by the sorcerers who were watching. He kind of put Sukuna in a kind of checkmate situation, where he defeated Maharaga, severely wounded Sukuna, whose healing had slowed down, and was also unable to use his Domain Expansion. As to on the other hand, Gogo was still ready to go.
However, now, coming into the last released chapter, we find out that he is dead and talking to his friends. We see that when Geto asks Gojo how he is Sukuna, he says that he is crazy strong and also mentions that he was not giving it all he had.
Along with that, he also says that he would have won even if he didn’t have the Ten Shadows. That is like a crazy controversial statement because that is going to anger a lot of people reading that.
Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 236: Recap and Review
After Gojo finishes speaking with his friends here in this “pseudo afterlife airport,” we come to Gojo on the ground. He is dead, and it is because he was like cut in half off the panel. Although we find out how Sukuna did it, at least, we don’t get to see how it played out visually.
We see Sukuna saying that Maharaga’s adaptation can only start after a single attack, and then it slowly starts to analyze, and its completion is only a matter of time, but if it receives another identical attack during that period, it accelerates the adaptation and even after it’s adapted, it continues to adapt further, which is insane!
Going further, Sukuna says that what he wanted from Maharaga was a model of how to rear through Infinity because Maharaga was adapting to Infinity by altering the essence of his own Curse Energy.
How did Sukuna do this? It could have been done one of two ways, I suppose. First of all, he just watched how Maharaga did it, and he figured it out organically, and just it by manually manipulating the Curst Energy, because he said he needed to see something that he could do, and the slashing attacks are not his repertoire.
It was also said by Angel that if he sees anything once, he will be able to do it. Another fun possibility is that Maharaga being completely destroyed by Gojo’s purple led to Maharaga being absorbed by Sukuna because of the Ten Shadows.

When a Shikigami dies, its life gets passed on to another Shikigami, since they become totality. When Maharaga dies, it might go to another Shikigami or to the user itself, and the user gains whatever he adapted.
