Plot Of The Movie
The Tiffin cafe, run by Maya D’Souza, a single mother of a 13-year-old, is frequented by Naren Vyas, the high school teacher who lives next door. Unbeknownst to Maya, Naren has been smitten with her for a while, listening in on her early morning conversations through their shared wall as he works up the bravery to approach her.
A much more frightening client, however—Maya’s husband Ajit, a cop she fled from fourteen years earlier—arrives at Tiffin’s door one morning. After learning that his wife Soniya was living in the tiny town under a different name, Ajit goes looking for Maya to find their daughter Tara.
Maya tries to avoid Ajit, but he eventually discovers her apartment and tells her that he wants to take Tara with him and sell her into a life of exotic dancing as he did with Maya. In response, Tara emerges from her room where she had been hiding and defends her mother by hitting Ajit with a heater rod.
Ajit starts attacking Tara, which causes the situation to quickly get out of hand. The mother-daughter team chokes Ajit to death with the heater rod’s wire while attempting to restrain the man.
As a result, Maya and Tara discover that they are dealing with an unexpected dead body. Soon after properly inferring Maya’s situation from inconsequential information, Naren knocks on their door and offers assistance in concealing the body.
Even though Maya considers coming forward to confess to the murder, Tara’s role in the crime makes things more difficult and forces Maya to hide Ajit’s passing.

Jaane Jaan Movie Ending Explained
Due to his relationship with the officer, Naren initially avoids participating in Karan’s inquiry into the murder case and just infrequently shows up. Naren claims that he barely knows Maya and only occasionally sees her in their interactions.
As a result, when Karan learns that the teacher frequents the cafe obsessively, it immediately points to a possible relationship between Maya and Naren. When Naren learns the same, he must modify his strategy and move on.
Naren reveals during his admission at the police station that he murdered Ajit at Maya’s request. Naren asserts that he is Maya’s bodyguard and that protecting her is his duty. However, the couple always kept their connection a secret, to the point that they never spoke to one another in public, to avoid unfavorable rumors.
Rather, Maya would talk to her daughter about her issues as Naren listened in through a gap in their shared wall. Naren was aware of Maya’s problematic marriage to Ajit because of these “conversations”. As a result, on the evening of the 10th, when the man showed up at her apartment complex, Naren led him to the mountains behind a monastery.
A heater rod that Naren hastily grabbed as a weapon before leaving the home was used to kill Ajit in the woods. Additionally, Naren provides a thorough description of how to burn the body to destroy any DNA evidence.
The conclusion is still that, in the absence of a personal autopsy, only the killer could provide such a comprehensive account of how the body was handled. Furthermore, Naren is directly blamed for the murder that was done on the 10th due to a complete lack of proof against him.
The teacher skipped work on the 10th despite Naren not taking a day off in years. Naren has little evidence supporting his innocence, in contrast to Maya, whose day out was confirmed by ticket stubs and business owners and serves as a strong alibi.
Therefore, Maya’s having an explanation on the night of Ajit’s death is essential to the success of Naren’s entire scheme. Naren realizes that the only option is to modify Ajit’s death date because providing Maya with a plausible alibi would be impossible.
Because we see Maya kill Ajit, Karan, and the audience thus far, have assumed she has been lying about her alibi. However, Maya’s explanation was always accurate because Ajit passed away on the 9th rather than the 10th.
Maya kills Ajit, and Naren hides his body and buries a fake corpse in the hills. To make sure the man leaves behind plenty of DNA samples, he pulls a homeless man off the streets and gives him food and a shower at Naren’s hotel.
After that, Naren kills him in the mountains using the same technique Maya had used to kill Ajit and smashes his face with a boulder to prevent anyone from recognizing him. When the homeless man was already dead, Naren burned his body to a crisp while holding back the flames on the pile of clothing.
Naren accomplished this by leaving Ajit’s identification card on the clothing, where the Police will discover DNA that will coincide with the DNA discovered in Ajit’s hotel room. He instructs Maya to gather proof of her innocence on the night of the 10th after setting up the ideal decoy body.
Therefore, Naren protects Maya from harm and implicates himself in the killing by skillfully leading Karan down the wrong path from the beginning. Additionally, by linking cultish images with his fixation with Maya, Naren gives Karan a solid justification for his behavior, absolving Maya of any blame while still giving Karan a plausible reason for Ajit’s relationship with her.
The final step is to claim Maya betrayed Naren in their one-sided, make-believe relationship to justify his confession and further cement the Police’s perception of him as a crazy, obsessive individual.
The heater rod at Naren’s home, which he probably swapped from Maya’s home at the beginning, is confirmed by forensics to be a perfect match to the murder weapon, putting the lead on the case.
Another puzzling aspect of the tale that affects the main criminal mystery is Naren’s motivation for helping Maya. On the surface, Naren’s claimed role in concealing Ajit’s death can be attributed to his reserved, reclusive demeanor and obsession with Maya.
However, if that were the case, Naren’s expectation for Maya to end up with him would be the inevitable step. But even when Maya spends time with Karan and responds dismissively to speculations that Naren has feelings for her, he stays by her side.
Naren wouldn’t have sentenced himself to fifteen years in prison if he hadn’t believed that aiding Maya would win his friendship. Maya eventually discovers the reality, despite her earlier assumption that his love also served as his motivation.
Naren’s first love has always been mathematics, and he once spent ten years working out a single issue. Even though Naren finds the solution to the issue, he learns that it was already solved 46 hours earlier.
As a result, he loses perspective on the future and feels that his life’s effort has been a waste. Even so, Maya knocks on his door and implausibly begs his neighbors for assistance as he tries to hang himself.
After meeting Maya, Naren develops a greater love for life and a stronger desire to enjoy it. Since Maya saved Naren’s life, he wanted to make sure she and her daughter, Tara, were secure. He consequently goes to unbelievable lengths to save Maya while facing the penalty for her error.
