Previously in Chapter 15 of Author, In This Life, I’m The Protagonist open ups with Lady Maria. She is sleeping in her room. It appears that Lady Maria is in fine state apart from having lost her strength.
Duke Castia says, “If something had happened to her, I wouldn’t have been able to face my parents in the afterlife.” It looks like Duke Castia is more worried about his sister’s health than anyone in the room. We see Castia appreciating the help of Lady Amber in saving his sister.
Amber says, “Don’t mention it. It’s only right that we help when our long-time friend is in need.” She was happy to help her long-time friend Castia when he needed it the most. Eventually, Kyle gets a chance to join the conversation.
And he states, “Since the leader still has the Chalice, there will be more victims.” According to his belief, the Chalice is definitely in his hands. Amber says, “We got what we were looking for, so don’t worry.” There is no need for them to worry about the leader anymore.
Amber explained to them about the chest she kept with her. It contains the Divine Relic, and when we bring the necklace close to the chest –something magical happens.

The Chalice — the leader was decorated with various gems and the power to control a person’s fear. Therefore, he is able to control the fear of Kyle and Castia when they drink from his Chalice. Because of this, the leader was able to start his cult. Amber says, “I’m unsure if an item uses people’s hidden fears deserves to be called a ‘Chalice’.”
