In the previous chapter of Just a Goblin, the Great Orc War finally comes to an end and everyone is busy acknowledging and celebrating Murlos’ adventurers’ victory and efforts. Even though it was a celebration, something in the party felt off.
Ryuon was busy giving an inspiring speech when someone points out that the other system wielder Nog is still alive. Ryuon did not seem happy to hear that but he continues his speech. Later, Nog an Gubble pack up and are making their way to the village. Nog suddenly apologizes to Gubble and she tells him that he should let it go.
Gubble chalks it off to his obsession to adventurers but Nog suddenly bursts and tells her that she has no idea what he is feeling. Nog tells her that he has to carry the burden of Goliath’s death forever now and he had to lie to his friend Tyron to his face about Goliath’s death.
Gubble continues to tell Nog to come back to the village with her but Nog asks her to go back alone. Nog leaves Gubble when she asks him to make a choice between her and the adventurers. Nog heads back to where Tyron was busy drinking and he looks very depressed considering his bestfriend died and his dad’s sword would no longer work.
Nog confirms that the sword is still the same and asks if he would like to train but Tyron asks Nog to leave him alone. On the other hand, Gubble thinks about Nog since he was a child and decides that she can’t leave him alone now of all times.
