Heard of K-pop? Yes, the one which is extremely popular these days all around the globe for their music and choreography, especially with the current increase of buzz and craze of music and dance. The K-pop industry is huge and massive, with hundreds of K-pop bands and solo singers who have a huge fan base all around the world.
Some K-pop groups and solo singers, including BTS, BLACKPINK, IU, PSY, and many more, are so popular that their fame is unimaginable, and the quality of music and dance they present is also of the next level. With such rising popularity, many talented artists, musicians, and dancers are stepping up in the K-pop industry from all around the world. But with that, the level of competition has also risen; some singers and bands make it while some don’t. Several make their way to the top charts, but many also face disbandment.
Many artists and bands, whether new or already existing, are still doing their best to beat the high competition that is present in the K-Pop industry. And one such K-pop girl group is 9MUSES which was under Star Empire Entertainment.
9MUSES Debut
9MUSES, or Nine Muses, was a K-pop girl group from South Korea that, on 9th August 2019, originally made a debut with nine members: Rana, Sera, Eunji, Lee Sem, Euarin, Jae Kyung, Bini, Minha, and Hye-Mi under the Star Empire Entertainment. With the release of their first new single, “Let’s Have a Party,” they made a debut on the 10th of August 2010. But in the end, the final lineup had only four members.

9MUSES Members
Starting with 9 members, this K-pop girl group which is under Star Empire Entertainment, ended with a four-member lineup including Hye-Mi, Gyeongree, Keum-Jo, and Jo So-Jin. So, here’s everything you need to know:
Pyo Hye-Mi
Pyo Hye-Mi is 32 years old beautiful South Korean singer who was born on the 3rd of April 1991 in Gwangju, South Korea, and has Aries as her sun sign. She was a member of the K-pop girl group 9MUSES, wherein she was the leader and at the position of the main vocalist. The 5feet 7in tall singer has the stage name ‘Hyemi’ and is also called by the nickname Pyo Boss.
She did her high schooling at Daegwang Girls High School, and her favorite hobbies include web surfing and searching and going to new restaurants. A ‘Nice Guy’ is what she is looking for as her ideal type. She is a talented singer and has leadership qualities which made her fit for being the leader of the group 9MUSES.
Park Kyungri /Gyeongree
Park Kyungri is a beautiful and talented South Korean singer and dancer who was a member of the K-pop girl group 9MUSES. She was born on the 5th of July 1990 in Busan, South Korea, and has Cancer as her zodiac sign. In the group, her position was of the lead vocalist, main dancer, and visuals. The 5ft 7in tall singer has very attractive visuals and is known by her stage name Gyeongree/ Kyungri.
She went to the Dae Myung Girls High School, and her hobbies include watching movies and looking at modal’s photos. Gyeongree dated a member of the group 2 AM, Jinwoon, but the two broke up in May 2021. She is not only a very good singer and dancer but also a talented actress and has been working under YNK Entertainment since 2020.
Jo So-Jin
Jo So-Jin is an absolutely gorgeous South Korean singer, rapper, and dancer who was born on the 11th of October 1991 in Gwangju, South Korea. She was a part of the girl’s group 9MUSES with the position of main dancer, lead rapper, and vocalist. Standing 5ft 7in tall, this singer is also known by her stage name So-Jin and also by her nickname Black Hole.
Jo So-Jin has Libra as her sun sign, and apart from being an excellent singer, rapper, and dancer, she is also a very talented actress who works under the SE M&M. Some of the things she likes doing includes slow dancing and doing squats. In 2021 So-Jin changed her name to Jo Gabin. Like her 9MUSES group member Hye-Mi, her ideal type is also someone who is a ‘Nice Guy’.
Lee Keum-jo
Lee Keum-Jo is a 5ft 6in tall, very pretty South Korean singer who was born on 17th December 1992 in Daegu, South Korea. She was the youngest member of Maknae of the K-pop girl group 9MUSES with the position of Main Vocalist and Maknae.
She is also known by her stage name Keumjo. Keum-jo’s zodiac sign is Sagittarius, and some of the things she loves to do include watching movies and reading webtoons. When she was asked about her ideal type on SBS Radio Power FM, she chose sexy guys as her ideal type.
9MUSES: Songs & Albums
They debuted with their first new single, “Let’s Have a Party,” in the year 2010 and then together promoted their album’s lead single title track, “No Playboy,” which managed to number 18 on the Gaon Album Chart and reached number 56 on the Gaon Digital Chart. The next song they released was a digital single titled ” Figaro,” which was out on the 11th of August. 2011. Further, in the 1st month of 2012, post-Gyeongree became a part of the group, and they released a single titled “News.”
Their next lead single, titled “Ticket,” was released in the same year, 2012, as an extended play Sweet Rendezvous, and it made it to number 6 on the Gaon Album Chart. The year 2013 was a big one for the girl group and their fans, as well as they released four songs that year. On the 23rd of January 2013, the girls released their second single album named “Dolls,” and it turned out to be a massive success being their highest charting single.
Post this success, on 9th May 2013, they released their second extended play, “Wild,” and also a title track having the same name. The single did great on the chart yet again. In the mid of October, the girl group released the lead single “Gun” with their very first studio album Prima Donna and in the 1st week of December released their digital single “Glue.”
In the year 2015, the group released three songs “Drama” (22nd of January 2015), Hurt Locker (1st of July 2015), and Sleepless Night (23rd of November 2015). The year ended with them releasing their fifth mini album titled “Lost.” A subgroup, Nine Muses A having four members, was formed, and followed that, the girl’s group released Muses Diary pt.2: Identity, their sixth extended play in the year 2017. With that, they released their lead single, “Remember,” on the 19th of June 2017. Further, in August 2017, the group released their title track, “Love City,” as a part of the Muses Diary Pt. 3: Love City.
Disbandment
After nine years of debut, the K-pop girl group 9Muses gave the news of their group disbandment. After a lot of memories, many wonderful songs, and choreography, the group disbanded in the month of February 2019. But before they announced that they are disbanding, the group wrapped up their activities with their one last final digital single titled, “Remember”.
The song came out on the 13th of February 2019, and it was followed by a fan meeting which was held on the 24th of February having the same title as the song. They had an interesting ad fun journey, but after nine years of debut, the group finally disbanded following the expiration of So-Jin, Keum-jo, and Heymi’s contract with Star Empire Entertainment, and the other two members left due to graduation.
