Aussie Gold Hunters Season 8 Episode 12 Recap
As the clock ticks and ticks and time runs out for Jacqui and Andrew on their mining permit, they must go to great lengths and risk a lot of assets, equipment, and precious moments to make their way to the dig site.
They are impressed by what other prospectors have managed to dig up, including a massive, 15-ounce gold nugget, when they ask a colleague where did he found that nugget, they embark on the top end of Queensland’s Palmer River.
On their way there, they talk about how finding a nugget similar to that 15-ounce big one. They’ve faced tough challenges, in past episodes their camp was destroyed, their metal detectors wrecked and they’re hanging on to hope to find whatever they can.
Jacqui and Andrew traverse a dense bush with their remaining metal detector, knowing that they’re exposing themselves to dangerous snakes, and treacherous fields.
Jacqui follows up on a metal detector ping, starts digging, and finds a 3-gram nugget. She radios Andrew, but there’s no response. She waits a little longer and starts to get nervous. She finds Andrew digging up gold, and the two head back to the place where Jacqui found the nugget. They are very excited to find more nuggets and with that day’s payload, it seems as though they’re on their way to save the season!
