Born and raised in Manhasset, New York, his mother, Georgann, and father, Thomas Henry Crudup III, got divorced during the early stage of his childhood. They remarried again, only to be divorced a second and final time. Crudup has described his father as an “incessant gambler and hustler salesman” who was continuously seeking “to hit the jackpot” throughout the course of his life before dying in 2005.
