The Plot and Characters
After suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of hero Emilia, the Devil King and his loyal general find themselves hastily escaping to another world, only to unexpectedly land right in the heart of busy, modern-day Tokyo. Stripped of their powers and unable to return home, the duo must adopt human traits and act like one to blend into the human world while searching for a way back.
To make a living in Tokyo, the once-mighty Satan, now Sadao Maou, surprisingly secures a job at a local fast-food restaurant called MgRonald’s. Sounds familiar? Determined to rise through the ranks of management, Satan must grapple with his burning desire for conquest in this unfamiliar world.
Sadao Maō/Demon King Satan, voiced by Ryota Ohsaka, is the main character in this isekai series. He is defeated in a battle and now finds himself trying to reach the top of food-chain management. Emi Yusa/Emilia, voiced by Yoko Hikasa, is the one who defeats Satan and follows him to Tokyo to ensure her work is completed. She adopts a human identity as well.
Shirō Ashiya/Alciel, voiced by Yuki Ono, is in charge of finding a way back home for his lord, Satan, and himself. An interesting character, he is deeply loyal to Satan and gets upset when he cannot do something right. Chiho Sasaki, voiced by Nao Toyama, acts as a form of fan service for the series. She’s Sadao’s colleague and has feelings for him.
Hanzō Urushihara/Lucifer, voiced by Hiro Shimono, loves playing video games. He made a deal to defeat Satan as his ticket to heaven. Finally, Suzuno Kamazuki, voiced by Kanae Ito, is tasked with defeating Sadao and Emi but has great trouble carrying out her life in modern Japan.
Though we’re unsure if this sequel is the third season of the anime, it’s safe to assume. Catch the first two seasons on Crunchyroll and come back on July 13 for this new addition!
