It never ceases to amaze me how TLC manages to take the “rinse and repeat” approach when it comes to its dating reality show. Case in point: 90 Day Fiancé, not only has that franchise had a longrunning trajectory, but it has a regional spin-off and takes on the original concept with its nuances. In essence, it’s all about a group of people agreeing to live with each other and get to know each other for three months. When the time is up, they must decide if they’re going to tie the knot or not.
Seems a simple concept, but 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way takes that and puts an American on the other side of the world facing cultural shocks, meeting inlaws not accustomed to dealing with foreigners, and other kinds of uncomfortable situations that these aspiring fiances must navigate to finally walk down the aisle and live happily ever after with that K1 visa and an eventual pathway to a US citizenship with all the benefit that entails.
90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way Around Season 4 Episode 13 Recap
We begin our episode with Gabriel returning to Colombia. He went home because he wanted to tell his family in person that he tying the knot. He had high hopes, but things went south when his family told him they didn’t want to move to Colombia permanently.
We move on to Jen; she had to deal with her fiance, which has kept her waiting for a long time. The family got Jen to stop using Rishi to talk to his family on behalf of Rishi. Since there were some language barriers, Jen came in with a translator who worked for the government. Through the translator, she talked to his family. She found out that he has been rejecting all the women they try to set him up with.
Moroccan Woes
Debbie thought she was moving to Morocco to be with a man who loved her, but he set his sights on her. There’s no love there, just the wishes and hopes of getting a green card. It was made obvious when Oussama said that they only got together because he wanted to move to the United States.
Oussama gave Debbie an ultimatum: He would end their relationship if she didn’t bring him to America. At least he’s honest, but that won’t fly with the dude stamping out the green cards back home for sure!
Dominican Shakeup
Yohan made it clear to Daniele that he wanted to move to the United States. He had said that everyone in the Dominican Republic wanted to move to the US, so Daniele is surprised him by making him stay there because Daniele made it look like she had put in for him. Daniele wanted to get Yohan a visa, but then she just showed up with all of her stuff in the Dominican Republic.
