For those who love watching cooking shows with twists, rejoice! Netflix has announced an 8-episode series titled Easy-Bake Battle: The Home Cooking Competition. The show is ready to air starting this week. With Antoni Porowski as the host, we can expect a fun and feel-good type of series coming our way.
The inspiration behind the show is unique. Easy-Bake oven, a children’s toy introduced by Kenner in 1963 that’s still popular and is manufactured by Hasbro, is what made the show creators go: “Wow. We can make a show out of this”. We can’t blame them, as absurd as it is, the Easy-bake oven has been the source of many interesting YouTube videos where people try to use it as a real oven’s replacement. A whole cooking series inspired by that sounds quite fascinating.
The whole motto of the show is “Cooking doesn’t have to be complicated.” It’s filled with hacks and methods to cook up a Tasty dish with an “S” that stands for satisfyingly easy and not stressful.
Easy-Bake Battle: Not your Regular Cooking Competition
The number of contestants hasn’t been revealed as of yet. What we do know is that these contestants won’t be cooking the conventional way.
The competition will consist of two rounds. It will involve making a savory dish for one round and any sweet dish for the next. Each round can give the contestants a chance to win $25,000. If they end up winning both rounds, they can bag a whopping amount of $100,000.
When the trailer was released on September 28, it almost instantaneously had people wanting to know more about it, and many had already added the show to their watch lists. Such cooking shows have been a hit all over YouTube and Netflix.
Before the release of Easy-Bake Battle, Netflix already had shows such as Nailed it! and Best Leftovers ever! which were well received by the audience. With an ingenious concept, Easy-Bake is expected to have much more fans and home cooks who are inspired by the show’s dishes.
I can’t remember the last time I was this excited for a cooking show 😍
