Why Was Chris Cuomo Fired From CNN
Chris Cuomo has been fired from CNN. The network says that it terminated Chris after review by a law firm, and a former female colleague has now come forward accusing Chris of sexual misconduct, he denies any wrongdoing. Deborah Katz, an attorney for the accuser who wants to remain anonymous, did not give the detail about the alleged misconduct, saying her client’s decision to come forward became when she watched Chris Cuomo said on his show in March about the sexual harassment allegation against his brother Governor Andrew Cuomo that he had always cared very deeply about this issue.
Pat says in a statement hearing the hypocrisy of Chris’s on-air words and being disgusted by his efforts to try to discredit these women. Her client retained counsel, and last week, they reported the allegation of this misconduct to CNN. A spokesperson for Chris said that these apparently anonymous allegations are not true. Chris’s termination comes on the heels of text messages released by the New York Attorney General’s office last week, which show the Prime Time host his media connections to help prepare his brother as accusers came forward.
Messaging the former governor’s top aide saying to let him help with the Prep. Giving advice on the statements and checking with sources on potential news stories coming out against the then Governor. Chris had previously acknowledged his involvement on air and said that When his brother’s situation became turbulent being loped into calls with other friends of his brother and advisors that did include some of his brother’s staff. And then added that he also understood why that was a problem for CNN. And then said that this thing would not happen again.
On Saturday, CNN revealed that Chris’s role was more than he led viewers to believe, and after review, he was terminated. Chris later posted a tweet saying that this was not how he wanted his time at CNN to end, but he had already told them why and how he helped his brother. CNN had no specific responsibilities related to the sexual misconduct allegation, but in a statement, a spokesperson told that when new allegations came to them this week, they took them seriously and saw no reason to delay taking immediate action.
