Benjamin Evan Ainsworth plays Mark Critch, Mark Critch plays Mike Critch (Mark’s Father), Claire Rankin plays Mary Critch (Mark’s Mother), and Malcolm McDowell plays Patrick ‘Pop’ Critch. The cast isn’t all high-class, but they fit the show.

Season 1 shows the weird life of young Mark, who has trouble dealing with the world. Trouble as in problems understanding sarcasm, deciding whom to trust and who can be considered a friend. He meets his first girlfriend on a date at a funeral parlor, and as he bets his life to meet her, one of the notable characters, Fox, finds herself uneasy. Ritchie invites himself over to Mark’s and meets his weird family despite Mark’s effort to keep it a secret.
Mark’s fear overwhelms him over the fact that his family might disown him when Princess Diana and Prince Charles (monarchs) visit his school. However, he is still with his family, who immensely love him. Christmas arrives, and Mark, Fox, and Ritchie decide to pack surprise gifts for the poor, and in between numerous arguments of the Critch Family, they are successful in their endeavor.
Between Mark’s comical adventure on Sports Day and his date with Fox in the circus, he interprets his feelings for her which might be more than just friends. He seems hurt to see her spending time with Ritchie. Mike Sr. chooses a classic at Mark’s school end-dance, and things patch up while the music plays. It seems that finally, Mark will say something to Fox, but as soon as he is about to say something, she interrupts knowingly it looks. Ritchie walks in, and the three friends begin their all weird dance.
Son of a Critch Season 2 Episode 1 Preview
With a new season, we will have a new class, characters, and bullies in Mark’s life. But what won’t change is his attitude towards life, his weird and caring family, and his funny friends. With the last scene assuring the friends thought about one another, here we are after the summer break.
The episode name “Growing Apart” might indicate growing differences between Mark’s thoughts and his friends who he hasn’t met for the summer. It can also indicate Mike Jr. moving on to his new adventure. A lot of possibilities for now, so why not just wait another day and see for ourselves?
Son of a Critch Season 2 Episode 1 Release Date
Son of a Critch Season 2 Episode 1, ‘Growing Apart’, will be released on Tuesday, January 3rd, 2023, at 8:30 PM Canadian Standard Time. The coming episodes will be released every Tuesday at the same time. So far, three more episodes have been named, with Episode 2 being ‘You’re Dead After School,’ Episode 3 being ‘Feast or Famine,’ and Episode 4 being Beer’ Necessities.’ The episode names tell a lot about how funny the ride will be.

Son of a Critch Season 2 Episode 1 will be available to watch live on the CBC Network and the CBC Gem online channel. The show’s first season was also made available on Lionsgate Play, but it is unclear whether the second season will also be available on the streaming platform.
