Long-running crime drama series NCIS has been a fan favorite for decades now. The series made its way on CBS on September 23, 2003. NCIS is a spinoff of JAG, and the popularity of the show has spawned several spinoffs.
NCIS has made a record by being the third longest-running scripted prime-time television series. The series was renewed for a twentieth season which has already premiered last year in September. The newest episode of the show has given tribute to their beloved crew member. Who are we talking about? Let us find out who Fred Tate is.
Who is Fred Tate?
Fred Tate was a crew member behind the scenes of the long-running crime drama series NCIS. Sadly, Tate passed away in 2022 after he reportedly suffered from pneumonia and was also diagnosed with cancer as well. An NCIS fan put up a post confirming the devastating news on Facebook.
The tribute itself reads how it was issued in loving memory of their friend and colleague Fred Tate, and the entire NCIS family will miss him. The note further emphasizes just how important he was to the “NCIS” family.
While being a part of the crew, Tate was a close member of the NCIS family. Apart from being a part of the crew team, Fred also took on the role of Charles Harrow in the series opposite Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David. While Fred was a crew member on NCIS back when the show first started, he later appeared as a stand-in for David McCallum’s Ducky Mallard as well.
Apart from NCIS, Fred Tate has other acting credits, including The General’s Daughter, which starred John Travolta. Fred Tate has also worked as a decorator, earlier working in the art and sound departments while also being enlisted as a worker in the transport department on the 1988 film Midnight.
