Excited for Island Kdrama Episode 4? We got a wonderful drama as a New Year’s gift in the last week of 2022. I’m talking about Island, which premiered on the 30th of December. Island is magnificent. Powerful, intriguing, fascinating, suspense at its finest, and absolutely thrilling. This is not for the faint-hearted audience, so people like me who don’t generally watch the horror genre should watch this drama during the daytime.
Having said that, if you can survive the first 25 minutes, I guess you will be able to survive the rest of the drama. Yes, yes, yes. The opening of the drama itself was spine-chilling. This is where we are introduced to the basic pot. The story is based in Jiju and the cinematography of this drama is mesmerizing.
There is a devil that has been existing since the beginning of time. The devil was captured and locked in Jiju. In order to stop the devil from escaping, God made each of his 46 children into a doll haribon. Also, to hide the original ones, God made fake ones to disguise them.
Island Kdrama Episode Recap
At the start of the episode, we see a couple doing their wedding photo shoot with one of the dolls Haribon. The couple gets possessed suddenly by something known as the lust demons. And it is here that Kim Nam Gil makes his heroic entry. So basically, Kim Nam Gil plays the character Ban, the beautiful Lee Da Hee plays Won MI Ho, and the handsome Cha Eun Woo plays priest Yohan. When Ban was a child, a few priests had turned him and his friend into half-devil with the very blood from the original devil locked in Jeju.
Priest Yo Han is only 20 but has a long list of achievements already. A Korean priest residing in Italy is one of the chosen 3 individuals to protect the world. The father in Italy takes signs from God and sends Yo Han on a quest to protect the lady savior and kill the devil in Korea. Oh wait, I forgot the cutest detail about our priest. He is a K-pop and K-drama fan.
So far there were only a few scenes of this priest in the first two episodes, but am sure we will see him more in the remaining episodes. Also, rumors suggest that he himself will be performing action sequences later. There’s one particular one of his priest scenes that fans have gone crazy about. It is when he is performing an exorcism on a female spirit. The charisma he uses out is speechless, chef’s kiss.
The female lead of this drama, Won Mi Ho is the female savior. Won Mi Ho is the only daughter of a rich man. Lee Da Hee has played similar rich roles before, but I am guessing there is going to be some future action sequence for her as well.
Mi Ho is ambitious and wants to inherit her dad’s business. Unfortunately, fate had other plans and she gets sent off to Jiju. Life for her in Jiju has been everything but easy. She keeps facing fewer demons one after the other. Ban has saved her every single time so far, but Mi Ho is now scared for her life. Ban tells her to fight the demons herself next time instead of getting scared.
Mi Ho, who is still unaware of her past and her connections to the magical world of Tamra, requests Ban to be her bodyguard to protect her. This scene was epic fun. Ban is so clueless and shocked at her request but eventually agrees. Now we will discuss when will Episode 4 of Island Kdrama will release.
Island Kdrama Episode 4 Release Date
Island Kdrama Episode 4 will release on 6 January 2023 on Mnet. At the time of writing, 12 episodes are scheduled for this season. This means there will be only 8 episodes after this week’s episode. Two episodes are released every week so this week you’ll get to see both 3rd and 4th episodes. Also, next week’s episode which is episode 6 will be the mid-season finale, and maybe the series could go on a break.
