The movie contains a brief scene where Ness borrows Nitti’s matches to light his cigarette. He is familiar with Jim Malone’s residence. This was filmed at 78 E Washington St, Chicago, Illinois 60602, USA. Another intriguing sequence from the movie shows how the squad stops the illegal importation of alcohol from Canada; this was also shot in the US at Old US 91, Cascade, Montana 59421.
The DuSable Bridge, which is situated on Michigan Avenue in Chicago, Illinois 60601, USA, was used as the location for the scene in which Eliot Ness is reflecting on a bad day when he meets Officer Jim Malone.
The 208 S. LaSalle St. 16th floor, Chicago, is where the squad is about to enter the Capone-run establishment where illegal booze is smuggled in the movie. The scene when Al Capone brutally explains why they must work as a team was filmed in the Blackstone – Ballroom at 636 South Michigan Avenue, E Balbo Dr, Chicago, Illinois 60605, United States.

Eliot Ness can be seen entering the hotel lobby where Al Capone stays in one scene in the film. Ness yells threats at Capone as he and his bodyguards descend the stairs. Jim Malone walks in and attempts to soothe Ness. The Chicago College of Performing Arts Auditorium Building, which is located at 430 Michigan Avenue in Chicago, USA, is where this was filmed.
Another scene in the movie shows Jim Malone bringing Eliot Ness to the church where no one can hear them. He delivers the dialogue, “You want to know where Capone is? You pull a gun; they pull a knife.”
