The NFL Super Bowl 2023 is here and it is going to be a fantastic day and I’m going to show you how you can watch it or stream it, either for free or for stupid cheap.
This year the Kansas City Chiefs are taking on the Philadelphia Eagles for the right to host up the Lombardi Trophy. It is taking place in Glendale, Arizona, this year. Next year, Super Bowl 2034 is going to be in Las Vegas and Super Bowl 2025 is going to be in New Orleans, what a lot of party towns.
In 2019, Fox actually made the Super Bowl completely free to stream. This was the first time this ever happened, but last year NBC owned all the rights and they actually charged through Peacock TV. So you gotta sign up for their premium membership in order to watch. It was fairly cheap, like 5 bucks, so it wasn’t anything crazy. But it was, you know, it was still a little annoying.
But it looks like Fox owns the right now and they’re going to make it available for you to watch for free. But there are some small caveats, and we will also go over that.
Super Bowl 2023: Live Stream, Time & Channels
Super Bowl 2023 is going to be airing on 12 February 2023, Sunday, on Fox now at 6:30 pm ET. Unfortunately, Fox is a little late to the game. They do not have a standalone streaming service yet. So if you do not have cable and want to watch the Super Bowl, you’ll need a streaming bundle.
Now I’m talking about bundles like YouTube TV, Fubo TV, Hulu Plus Live Television, and also Sling TV. Now all of these, like all of these platforms, have free trials. So if you wanna watch Super Bowl for free and you haven’t signed up for one of these services, pick one, get a free trial, and the Super Bowl’s free.
Now my absolute favorite streaming bundle is gonna be YouTube TV. It is going to include all of the major broadcasts. We’re talking about ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, and also ESPN for one price. Now they run deals all the time and right now they have $10 off of the first month and with that, you can watch on the big screen and you could do anything.
How To Watch Super Bowl 2023 For Free?
With Super Bowl 57 coming up we are going to have a crazy game between the Eagles and the Chiefs. And I thought it’d be great to go over some of the top options you can watch it completely for free on your PC, Firestick, Fire cube, Nvidia shield, or whatever device you might own.
So in order to watch the Super Bowl you need to go to foxsports.com. There’s also a streaming app for your firestick, firetube. You can just look up Fox Sports, and you’ll be able to install it right there with no issue and here you’ll be able to see where you can watch it. You can watch it directly on your PC by going here.
Now the issue is in order to watch you do need to already pay for either a cable TV subscription or some kind of subscription that already has a Fox on it. So you can’t just watch Fox for free, you need to actually already have service on some sort of service.
Now that’s not going to be the only method to watch the Super Bowl. There are actually a few other live stream services that have it and I want to go over those as well. Some of them offer really good deals and in some of them, you get a trial and then cancel after the Super Bowl.
DIRECTV
So the first option would be DIRECTV. Now I don’t believe this is actually available in Canada, but they offer Fox directly on it. You could shop their packages, they’re a little expensive, so this would not be my first choice. I think they have a more comprehensive library channel, so that’s probably the reason for the high cost.
fuboTV
fuboTV will also have Fox depending on what country you are in. I believe even in Canada they have it as well, but make sure you check the list. Now in the US that you offer a seven-day trial. There’s no trial for this plan on the Canadian website. But if you go to the US site you will be able to get a trial with it and once you’re done with that trial, go ahead and cancel it, and get your money back. It’s like watching the Super Bowl 2023 for free. Just another option.
Hulu TV
Hulu TV is another one of those really good ones. They all obviously also have streaming services that have TV shows movies, etc. Fox Sports is directly available on Hulu TV. They did offer a trial at one point, it’s not looking like they have it right now, but it’s another really good option. It is a little expensive, so I would probably go with fuboTV
Buying TV Antena Through Rakuten
Now let’s say you do not want to go that route. You do not want to get a free trial, you just don’t want to sign up, and you don’t want to give them your information. Now the other way where you can watch Super Bowl 2023 for free is by getting a TV Antenna. Now a TV Antenna works like the antennas from the olden days. It’s essentially a device that picks up your local channels.
Now a TV antenna, all you have to do is plug it in via HDMI and you can get it all of these local channels so we’re talking about ABC, we’re talking about CBS, we’re talking about NBC and we’re talking about every channel that you would need, you’re gonna get it for free. So you’re going to get a lot of prime-time shows, and you going to get a lot of other sporting events.
There’s just a lot of stuff that you’re gonna get and it comes at no extra charge. The only charge that is going to happen is when you buy the device. And you will have to buy this device but you can either get it through amazon and there are some pretty cheap ones out there.
Now there is a trick to getting this device for free. Now, how you going to do this is you’re going to sign up for Rakuten. You go through Rakuten, you search for a TV antenna and you find one that you like. Now since you signed up to Rakuten, the second you buy something that is over $30, you’re going to get $30 back.
So the TV Antenna, you buy it for $30 and then they give you $30 back. And then you could watch whatever you want at no extra charge. Now, a lot of people do not know about TV Antennas because everything’s a smart television now. But it is really cool that these still exist, and it’s really cool that you can get all of this primetime content for free.
NFL Plus
Now the other way, is that you can watch Super Bowl for free if you get NFL Plus. Now NFL Plus is a brand new streaming service that they just launched this year. But it comes with one big caveat, and that is that you can only watch it on either your mobile phone or your tablet.
You cannot watch it on the television, you cannot airplay it onto the TV, you can’t do any of that. You could only watch it on your mobile device. Now, as of right now, NFL Plus is only $5 a month. Get a free trial and the Super Bowl is free.

Super Bowl LVII streaming is free in the U.K. as well, just tune in to BBC One. The game starts at 11.30 p.m. GMT, on 12 February 2023, Sunday, and while it’s going to go into another day, we bet most of us will tune in on BBC iPlayer, and enjoy from a more relaxing place.
