Whelp! It’s official, folks. The arc of the popular intergalactic bounty hunter could be coming to an end. And very soon, at that. Draft pages of the Dragon Ball Super’s newest chapter have dropped online, and fans are still reeling from the initial shock that came as a bolt out of the blue. We’re talking about Granolah’s speculated ultimate fate, of course. As one of the most popular characters in the manga, Granolah The Survivor has a unique fanbase of his own. Granolah had been an underdog, the last of the Cerealians, whose race was wiped out by Freeza using the Saiyan Great Apes.
He has since been on a revenge streak, becoming an intergalactic bounty hunter after the Cerealian dragon balls to summon Toronbo, the Cerealian wish-granting dragon. Though Granolah ultimately finds the dragon balls and asks the dragon to make him the strongest being in the universe, it seems that the Cerealian could have the short end of the stick. The price he would be paying is too high.
One Wish To End Them All
After summoning Toronbo, the Cerealian dragon, Granolah asks the beast to make him the strongest being in the universe. Toronbo replies that the best he can do is make Granolah reach his latent potential. Though Granolah reluctantly agrees to the deal, there is a catch; for him to become the most powerful warrior in the universe, he has to sacrifice his remaining years.
A Cerealian typically has an average lifespan of more than a hundred years. But after he is made the most powerful being in the present universe, Granolah’s lifespan is reduced to all but three years. And the strangest thing is that while Toronbo does grant him his wish as the most powerful warrior, the terms are shady. Granolah is the most powerful being for the time being, but there is no guarantee that he will hold on to that title. In fact, anyone can overpower him at any moment, including his ultimate target, Freeza. Talk about a bad deal.

What This Means For Granolah
Well, it seems we’re entering the sunset years of Granolah’s arc. The last survivor of Cereal would be looking to battle with his archnemesis, and there is no guarantee that he would survive, either. Right now, we could say that Granolah could be lonely; possibly suicidal. You see, when you’re the last remaining person of an entire race, you don’t exactly see the rainbow in the corner every day.
So, does this mean that Toronbo has cheated Granolah? Perhaps. Perhaps not. The dragons are never beings who look into morality in the grand scheme of things. They are highly complex, omnipotent beings who have the power to grant wishes. While Toronbo is certainly no counselor, he does grant what Granolah sought after; the title of the most powerful warrior at the given time.
Perhaps, instead of blaming Toronbo, Granolah should’ve taken proper English courses.
How things could possibly end
While things don’t look too good with Granolah at the moment, he currently does hold the title of the most powerful being in the universe. He’s stronger than Goku, Vegeta, and Freeza. So, the sooner he discovers Freeza, the better (since we know that Freeza has drastic transformation abilities). But there is one thing to remember: though Granolah is extremely powerful now, he just has the edge over the second most powerful being, whoever it might be.
That means no matter what, Granolah (or Freeza) wouldn’t be going down without breaking into a sweat. On the contrary, the fight could be as brutal as it could be. If Granolah manages to find Freeza, they’d both be fighting tooth and nail for survival in a battle whose likeness the audience has never seen before. This epic showdown could even go down as one of the best fight sequences in the DBZ universe so far, if not the best.
So, would Granolah be able to avenge his family’s slaughter at the hands of the Saiyans? Would the honor or the Cerealian race be restored? Or would Granolah die a noble death after mortally wounding Freeza in the upcoming battle? Well, we certainly do not have an answer to that right now, but if I were Granolah, I’d be on the phone with my lawyer, busy making my will.
