Here are 31 Movies Like Ready Player One which are a must-watch. Steven Spielberg’s latest masterpiece, “Ready Player One,” is yet another one that effortlessly transports viewers to an intriguing new setting. The movie is based on the same-titled book by Ernest Cline. The focus of the science fiction movie, which is placed in 2045, is a well-known virtual reality system. When a co-creator of a VR system passes away, he (the co-creator) leaves hints in the system that grants ownership of the entire system to anyone who can locate them. The following is a thrilling competition.

People in a dystopian 2045 turn to the OASIS, a virtual reality entertainment space created by James Halliday and Ogden Morrow of Gregarious Games. Anorak, Halliday’s avatar, announces a game that would give ownership of the OASIS to the very first person to uncover the golden Easter egg inside of it when Halliday dies in a pre-recorded statement. Three keys are needed to open the gate that the Easter egg is locked behind, and players can get those keys by completing three challenges.

The competition has drawn several “Gunters,” or egg hunters, as well as Nolan Sorrento, CEO of Innovative Online Industries, who want to take personal control of the OASIS by introducing obtrusive online advertising. To find the egg, IOI employs a large force of indentured servants and workers known as “Sixers.”
