Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Evelyn—or Evie, as she prefers to be called—is gorgeous in part. The “Game of Thrones” actress is lovely, but her statement also has a no-frills honesty that puts her in a relatable position. Jessica M. Thompson creates a foreboding mood that gives us the idea that a nasty and dark universe is about to be exposed. The setting is suitable, albeit conventional; the mansion’s interior is gloomy, cobweb-covered, and, most remarkably, mimics a crypt. The resurgence of Gothic masterworks will make for an exciting journey.
The Invitation was launched, and viewers should be prepared for a gory timely fashion. The plot centers on a young lady named Evie who has no documented relatives but uncovers a long-lost relative thanks to a Genetic test. When Evie accepts an invitation to a luxurious marriage, the aristocracy seduces her, but she soon learns that the lineage is flawed and that her success relies on it. These films will provide the same excitement and scare as The Invitation. Regardless they feature bloodthirsty nocturnal monsters or people who are just as ominous and evil.
