A reality series that made a place in the viewer’s heart leading to several spin-offs being made for the same. Big Brother is a reality television series from which Big Boss, an Indian reality series, takes inspiration.
Originally released on CBS on July 5, 2000, the series has run for 25 successful seasons with more than 862 episodes. Big Brother follows a format where certain celebrities get invited to become a part of the reality series and spend 100 days under house arrest with each other.
These celebrities form a bond with each other while they nominate the one they don’t like. Out of the nominated contestants, the one receiving the least number of votes gets sent home. Even though Big Brother has several fans, the series has also faced criticism from viewers for the harassment and bullying the housemates go through.
Presented by Julie Chen Moonves, the 25th season of Big Brother has Blue Kim, Mecole Hayes, America Lopez, Bowie Jane Ball, Izzy Gleicher, Reilly Smedley, Jared Fields, Kristen Elwin, Hisam Goueli, Felicia Cannon, Luke Valentine, Cory Wurtrnberger, Jag Bains, Red Utley, Matt Klotz, and Cameron Harding as their houseguest.
The concept of Big Brother originally originated in Dutch by John de Mol Jr., Produced by Don Wollman, and the series has the houseguests under camera surveillance for 24 hrs with microphones attached to their clothes.
Each episode of Big Brother has a run time of 40-120 minutes, depending on the day of the week. The contestants that manage to stay till the series ends walk out from it with a cash prize of $750,000.
The houseguests are evicted from the series every weekend after the host announces their name. The houseguests have to fight for luxury and food due to their not having any contact with the outer world.
The contestants also fight to become the head of the house due to several advantages the head of the household gets. Season 25 of the ongoing series premiered on August 2, 2023, with 17 contestants.

Big Brother Season 25 – Recap
The series starts with 16 contestants entering the isolated house of Big Brother after Julie introduces them to viewers. The moment the contestants enter the house, they get a color-coded spot in four different competitions.
The host then makes the revelation that every houseguest who comes in the last position during the competition will be nominated immediately for elimination. After the competition for each color-coded block ends, Felicia, Jared Cory, and Kristen get nominated for eviction.
The first episode also introduces the viewers to a secret contestant Cirie Fields, who enters after Cory is taken away from the rest of the contestants. The second episode witnessed Cirie officially making an entrance in the series while Izzy privately informed Jared that she knew he was Cirie’s son.
She promises Jared that she will keep it a secret from other houseguests. Three houseguests, Jred, Cirie, and Felicia, ally and start to target Kristen, another houseguest. Reilly became the first head of the house of the 25th season after she won a competition of walking across a balance beam.
Reilly got the chance to save two of the nominated contestants, and after some convincing, Reilly saved Jared and Cory. Kristen breaks down in the third episode after the nomination task as Reilly reveals that Felicia wasn’t the target, but Kristen was the actual target.
The series’ first power of veto competition takes place in the third episode with Blue, Hisam, and Cameron. Hisam won the power of veto but decided against using it to save either Kristen or Felicia.
In the fourth episode, the viewers witness that the houseguests have divided into three core groups, and Luke gets removed from the game after he fails to follow the code of conduct of the series. Kristen became the first eliminated contestant of the season, Season 25.
The fifth episode witnessed the houseguests taking part in the head of the household competition. Hisam becomes the second head of the household after he wins the competition against Jared. Hisam celebrates his week of safety and reveals his target will be Reilly because she went after him the previous week.
Hisam nominates Reilly and Cameron during the nomination ceremony. In irony, the sixth episode witnessed Hisam comforting Reilly after nominating her. Hisam wins the power of veto competition against Matt, Bowie, and Jane.
Hisam doesn’t use his power of veto card, thus leaving Reilly and Cameron still nominated. The seventh episode witnessed Reilly’s elimination and her interview following it. The remaining houseguests compete to win head of household competition to gain their safety. The eighth episode witnessed the nomination of two contestants for elimination.
Big Brother Season 25 Episode 9 Preview
The upcoming episode of the blockbuster season of Big Brother will witness the contestants competing to win the power of the veto card essential for saving a contestant from nomination.
The winner will get the opportunity to either save a contestant or let the nomination remain the same. It will be interesting to see who will win the power of veto challenge. The revelation of the next head of the household may be made in the upcoming episode.
