49ers coach Kyle Shanahan has given a positive update during a postgame press conference. The coach stated said that, luckily, Samuel did not break any bones and seemed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain. This painful injury could keep the player off the field for at least the rest of the regular season.
Receiver Brandon Aiyuk has also opened up about it, saying how it is always tough to watch somebody go down, especially when one of their guys, a guy in their room, is injured. The receiver further added that while it was tough, they had a task to go out there and complete.

While there has been no confirmation but it can be assumed that the athlete might be back in time for the playoffs should the 49ers hold off the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC West.
However, Samuel needs a long recovery as he was unable to get up and had to be carried off the field on the cart. He was holding his left knee at all times as his team had a clear 21-0 lead at the time. An MRI has also been revealed that confirmed that Samuel has suffered a sprained ankle and sprained MCL, which might keep him out for about three weeks.
