Dance instructor, choreographer, reality television star, businesswoman, and author Abby Lee Miller hails from the United States. When Dance Moms debuted on Lifetime in 2011, Abby Lee Miller practically became famous overnight.

She continued to develop into one of the show’s most recognizable faces, being connected to it until 2016. Miller has made appearances on numerous other TV programs, such as Dancing with the Stars, Dance Moms: Miami, Dance Moms: Abby’s Studio Rescue, and Abby’s Ultimate Dance Competition.

Abby established the Abby Lee Dancing Company in 1980 and ALDC LA in 2015, both of which are dance studios. Miller’s life, sadly, has turned out to be worse recently due to her prison sentence and health issues.

For bankruptcy fraud, she received a year in prison in 2017. Miller was diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma, a rare variety of non-lymphoma Hodgkin’s, not long after she was released. The Lymphoma Research Foundation states that the illness is extremely aggressive and has the potential to impact the colon, kidneys, ovaries, central nervous system, jaw, and other organs.

But after developing a health issue while serving her one-year, one-day sentence at a halfway house a month before being freed in 2018, the former host of “Abby’s Studio Rescue” hasn’t been back on the dance floor.

Abby Lee Miller of Dance Moms hasn’t moved independently or performed even a plié in four years. Abby Lee Miller experienced excruciating discomfort in her neck and limbs in April of that year.

Miller’s pain was initially diagnosed as being caused by a spinal infection, but she later learned that she had cancer, necessitating the use of a wheelchair. The reality actress has been candid about her traumatic battle with cancer in the hopes that her followers’ support may hasten her recovery.

In order to remove a big tumor from her spine, the 56-year-old underwent spinal surgery, but the process rendered her paraplegic and wheelchair-bound. Abby Lee Miller underwent ten rounds of chemotherapy.

However, in August 2018, she experienced a setback when she was admitted to the hospital due to a high temperature and low white blood cell count. She also claimed in 2020 that she consulted six doctors in only ten days, all of whom she alleges disregarded her problems. It was almost too late when she finally received an MRI.

According to Miller, the undiscovered malignancy constricted her spinal cord, and the damage it caused over 24 hours took away her ability to walk. This is why she is currently in a wheelchair. Miller claims that she wouldn’t require a wheelchair if any of the six doctors had handled her chemo diagnosis and treatment.

She and her fans remained upbeat despite the ups and downs of her challenging treatments, and in May 2019, Miller declared that a year after being diagnosed, she was finally cancer-free. This choreographer, however, still required help with daily tasks and relied on a wheelchair for movement.

Where is she now?

She has received physical therapy and treatment at numerous rehabilitation facilities over the years, and she has made significant improvements. After finishing her therapy, Miller even finished shooting the eighth season of Dance Moms: Resurrection.

While she will appear in Dance Moms: Resurrection, season 8, a video of Miller in a wheelchair shows that, despite receiving a recent clean sheet of health, her recovery process is still very much ongoing. She may be in a wheelchair for the time being, but that won’t stop her from returning to her favorite things.

In a 2021 interview, Abby disclosed that she had undergone an elective procedure to help relieve her discomfort and regain her mobility and that she was now learning to walk again. She posted updates about her journey and her fight with cancer on social media.

In April 2022, she posted a video on Instagram of her learning to walk. She also revealed that she was filming a new project, which will reportedly feature her “2022 Dance Moms Booty Camp.”

Miller hada spinal infection that started at the base of her neck and moved up to her lower back, according to the initial diagnosis. In addition, Lee managed to break her leg twice. Her three-month restriction from bearing weight on her legs due to medical advice was another setback for the dancing star.
