The relationship that 2AM Jeong Jinwoon shared with his former girlfriend, Kyungri was almost magical. But we know that all good things must come to an end. In a candid and open interview with Jung Jun Ha on her YouTube channel, 2AM Jeong Jinwoon revealed the real reason why he broke up with his girlfriend, Kyungri.
In his most recent public appearance, on April 15, Jeong Jinwoon appeared on Jung Jun Ha’s YoutTube channel, “Jeong Jun Ha Ha Ha”. The idol was accompanied by another YouTuber, with the name Oking.
On this fateful day, the comedian YouTuber and 2AM Jeong Jinwoon played a game called “the balance game,” wherein they has to choose between two extremes. The question that triggered an honest discussion of his relationship with Kyungri was when Jeong Jinwoon had to choose between “the one who loves me” and “the one I love.”

2AM Jeong Jinwoon answers the question
While Oking chose the former choice, “the one who loves me,” Jeong Jinwoon chose the latter option, “the one I love.” When further prompted to explain his views, the idol stated that he hates when anyone barges into his life and tries to take control of the tiniest aspects of it.
Picking up on these threads, Jung Jun Ha asked Jeong Jinwoon the reason for his and Kyungri’s breakup. Jung Jun Ha assumed that the reason 2AM Jung Jinwoon and Kyungri broke up was due to the fact that Kyungri was too much of a control freak. However, Jung Jinwoon was quick to refute these claims. Surprising others with this statement, Jeong Jinwoon mentioned that Kyungri was often the one who was suffering and having a hard time because of him. Roadmapping Jeong Jinwoon’s and Kyungri’s relationship – Dating Rumors Confirmed
On a fateful and frigid winter day – November 13, 2019, Jeong Jinwoo’s agency confirmed the dating rumors. Mystic Story was quick to respond when speculations surfaced regarding 2AM Jeong Junwoon and Kyungri dating. Their statement reads as follows:
Despite Jeong Jinwoon and Kyungri starting off as industry acquaintances who frequently worked together, their friendship soon converted into romance, where they started dating each other in 2017. Reassuring both of their fans, Mystic Story also asked them to support both of them. Additionally, Mystic Story also stated that while Kyungri will be appearing on more broadcasts, Jeong Jinwoon will serve in the military.

On the 17th of November, in an episode for “Video Star,” 2AM Jeong Jinwoon became emotional and tearful as he thanked his girlfriend after being discharged from the military.
Jeong Jinwoon also mentioned that except for missing a couple of meeting sessions, Kyungri was diligently visiting him. Jeong Jinwoon also mentioned that he was very happy when she came to visit her. In fact, he liked it so much, that he was ready to re-enlist in the military because of these romantic meeting sessions!
After getting asked what he likes the most about Kyungri, 2AM Jeong Jinwoon got emotional and said that she was a very supportive girlfriend during his difficult time. Moreover, the fact that Kyungri believed in him made him all the more confident in his skills.
Jeong Jinwoon mentioned that he did not want Kyungri to wait while he was in the military, and even suggested that they break up. But Kyungri was adamant and she said that they would make it work somehow. So when asked to make a video message for Kyungri, 2AM Jeong Jinwoon looked directly into the camera and said that “thank you for waiting.”
