Eris is training to get even more robust and better swordsmanship than anyone else, and so she pushes her to the absolute limits. “Faster, Faster,” she keeps shouting as she trains and thinks of all the people who are better swordsmen than her. She gets attacked by a wild animal in the midst of her training, and she effortlessly slices the animal in two as she’s burning from the inside.
Eris believes that she’s still too slow and takes a break for a while. She takes the meat of the animal she killed and cooks it to make a meal. She thinks of how everyone in her Dojo keeps doing the same old practice and believes that no one can get stronger because she’s still too weak. She thinks about Ghislaine, Ruijerd, the sword god, and Orsted and how they are all faster than her.
Eris decides to get stronger to save everyone from suffering the same fate as Rudeus and heads home to take some rest first. Eris arrives home and gets greeted by a strange man. She’s already angry because her training is not going well and so she asks the man to step away. He refuses to move and pulls out his sword,, leading to Eris getting prepared for combat.
The man gets stunned by her aura and thinks about who she could be. Eris strikes with full force, but he dodges the attack and yet admires the destructive power of Eris’s blade. They fight for some time until they are stopped by the sword God. The man, referred to as North Emperor, recognises Eris by her name, “mad dog.”
Eris lies down on the ground and cries at her weakness while the North Emperor and sword god commend her fighting skills. Ghislaine enters the room angry and shouts at the sword god for not teaching anything to Eris.
Sword God immediately stands up and places his sword on her throat to shut her up. He explains to Ghislaine that to become truly strong, one needs to break the boundaries of rationality, and that can’t be done by learning.
To be able to beat Orsted, Eris needs to break rationality herself, as Orsted is beyond all that. He introduces the North Emperor Auber Corvette to her and tells her that he would be training Eris now as he’s adept in the Northern style which Orsted uses. He also tells Ghislaine that he has sent a letter to the water god too, for training Eris, which calms her a bit.
Ghislaine agrees with the sword god’s teaching methods and greets the Northern Emperor. She feels proud that her master has good plans for Eris and says that now Eris will get much more vital and get the approval of the Northern Emperor in a year.
