With the franchise over a decade old, fans are still curious about Twilight filming locations. It has to be one of the best y2k films to have ever been made, even though the concept was not that new. The entire franchise soon became a cultural phenomenon where billions of dollars were earned by the films in revenue, and even the merch was sold so much.
The film starts with Bella Swan, who is moving to his father’s home after her mother is set to travel the country with her new husband. She moves to Forks, which is a small town where the sun hardly ever shines. Here, she begins a friendship with Jacob, who is also another teen studying at her school and the son of her father’s friend. There are also other people who become her friend.
Although, she is particularly drawn toward Edward, who is a vampire. She soon starts to hang out with him and the whole Cullen family, who are also vampires. Bella soon starts to realize the dangers of the world that comes along with the same. At the same time, she also learns about the huge feud between the vampires as well as the werewolves, where Jacob belongs to the latter clan.
Now that Bella and Edward are fully in love, he must protect her from the vampires that are trying to kill her for the scent of her blood. We see that all the vampires have unique abilities which make them special in their own rights.
Twilight Filming Locations
As we see in the story that, Bella lives in Forks, the town serves as a primary filming location for Twilight. A lot of exterior scenes were filmed here. The place is located in Clallam County in Washington State. It has a small population of just a little over 3000 people only.
Forks High School
The scenes where Bella meets Edward and the Cullen family, as well as the parking lot scenes, were all shot in Forks High School. It is the only place in Forks for a high school diploma and a successor to Forks Middle School.
St. Helens town located in Oregon
This is the place where the beautiful family home of the Cullen family is situated. It is one of the most important locations in the entire film and truly took the fans by surprise. Almost all the walls are made of glass, and the vampires inside can climb down at any instance. At first, I really thought that they would have lived in a darker, more gothic home given their origin, but this house truly defied all the expectations. The home also has a beautiful view of the Columbia River. The interior scenes of the house were filmed on a sound stage but the exterior ones are located in Oregon.
La Push Town in Washington
This location was used by the crew to shoot the bright sunny beach days where Bella and her friends went for a swim with Jacob as well. Through the lens of the film, it is obvious that the place has stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.
The one scene where Bella and Jacob talk about the Cullens and their bizarre history is shot at the First Beach in La Push. They also talk about the historical legend of the Quillette tribe. The driftwood logs which were featured in the films are still open to the public to enjoy.
Portland, Oregon
The beautiful city was used to film the urban scenes in the movie. Such as the time Bella and Edward go on to meet with her mother and stepfather. Some of the locations which were specifically seen in the movie were Powell’s City of Books. This happens to be one of the biggest independent bookstores in the whole world.
Also, we see Steel Bridge which is located across the Willamette River. These locations are open for tourists to visit, and thus, you can get your digital cams out and shoot y2k pictures at the locations.
