American Gigolo is an American television series. The genres of the tv show are drama, romance, crime, and thriller and it is a show that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The television show is based on the 1980 movie of the same name, which was directed and written by Paul Schrader.
The new television series remake of American Gigolo is developed by David Hollander. The show was executively produced by Jack Bruckheimer, who was also the producer of the original movie. The tv show stars Jon Bernthal, Gretchen Mol, Gabriel LaBell, Lizzie Brochere, and Rosie O’Donnell. The tv series aired and premiered on 11 September 2022.
The plot of the show revolves around Julian Kaye. After being falsely accused and put in jail for murder, he did not commit it. He is released 15 years later and struggles to survive. He finds it hard to get used to the new modern-day sex industry in Los Angeles. At the same time, he also decides to find the truth about the murder which he was wrongfully framed for, and he hopes he can meet and connect with his true love, Michelle.
The production of this television series hit a few bumps along the road, with its release and premiere date being delayed many times. David Hollander was supposed to produce the series, but on April 23, 2022, it was reported that he left the project after there was an investigation of his on-set misconduct.
Following David Hollander’s departure on April 27, 2022, it was also further reported that production of the show had been shut down for four days because of Hollander’s sudden departure and many actors not being available at that time. And later, in May 2022, it was once again announced that the television show production would be shut down for a further two weeks as one of the actors excited the series.
