While they are at a fair or a mixer where the parents can get to know the children, Ellie and Pete get curious to adopt Lizzie, who is currently 15 years of age. Turns out that Lizzie actually comes in a lot. She is along with her two smaller siblings named Juan, who is 10 years in age, and Lita, who is just 6. Their mother is an alcoholic and is surely not suitable for taking care of the children. When the three children meet with Pete and Ellie, they do not think there is a bond between them.
Plot
Later, when the two are attending Thanksgiving dinner, their family says they knew how adoption would never work out for them. This makes them furious, and the couple declares that they will adopt the siblings. Soon, their lives become a mess when their schedule becomes too busy with three kids living in their house. Juan is an emotional kid and does not take well to criticism.
As for Lita, she does not eat anything but potato chips. Lizzie, who is a teenager and older than her siblings, does not want Ellie and Pete to parent her.
