In the previous chapter of The Duke’s Redemption, Shion receives a letter from his mother. Over the past few months, Shion’s mothers had sent numerous letters but Shion never had the heart to send a reply. Shion feels guilty, thinking that he is just an imposter, masquerading around as the real Shion. Due to his non responsiveness, Shion’s mother got extremely worried but she still kept on sending letters in the hope that he will reply to it somehow and she could feel relieved.

Shion’s mother writes that she is sending yet another letter since she knows that he is receiving them. At first, she thought that Shion might have died but after the family started receiving money and got elevated in status, she was sure it was Shion’s doing.
