What to expect from Agency?
We’ll be introduced to a glitzy, contemporary office drama in the show that gives us an insight into the impending faction battles and succession games in this workplace. The competition in the advertising industry is fierce, making it a life-or-death situation.
The conservative Agency’s sole female creative director, Go Ah In, played by Lee Bo-young, must work ten times as hard as her occasionally incompetent male colleagues to keep her job. Ah makes them feel extremely intimidated because the Agency is still a boys’ club.
The guys surrounding her are sitting at higher ranks and attempting to keep her out of one of the prized executive positions they feel entitled to because of her sharp marketing sense and tremendous competence. Ah-in doesn’t let it stop her. It’s reasonable to say Ah isn’t sentimental or even someone who values other people’s sentiments.
We shall also meet the nice manager HAN BYUNG-SOO, played by Lee Chang, who will maintain the calm in the team. No matter how unpopular Ah may be no one can contest her talent or insights. As a result, KWON WOO-CHEOL, played by Kim Dae, is concerned when Director CHOI CHANG-SOO, portrayed by Jo Sung-ha, reveals that there will be a battle for the executive position.
Ah thinks there is no contest among all the employees if the ability is the only deciding factor. Ah-in has earned Chang’s admiration for her prowess and effectiveness, but she thinks too much for herself is what seems the only problem with her.
Ah is aware of the quality of her work and that she has little prospect of success because of workplace politics. Her supervisor YOO JUNG-SEOK, played by Jang Hyun-sung, questions why she worries so much about her presentations whenever they are due.
Ah thrives on working hard and does not provide anybody to call her out or fire her due to subpar work. Eun Jung will also be introduced to us as a supporting cast member as aggressive without being annoying and seems tough but nice. She is married and has a child. She is a hard-working mother who will add a new viewpoint.
She will begin to earn Ah’s respect for her abilities in the workplace. Ah-in may be a fantastic marketer, but she still has a lot to learn about friendship, teamwork, and feeding her empty fridge, which is the true telltale sign of a lonely professional.
