Park Gi Ho’s K-drama, Elegant Empire has finally started airing its episodes. With Han Ji Wan, Kim Jin Woo, and Kang Yul as its main leads, the drama series premiered earlier this month.
If you’re looking for a daily soap kind of drama that’s intriguing and fun to watch, Elegant Empire is the way to go. Its storyline centers on Gi Yun, Jung Woo Hyuk and Seo Hee Jae, a trio that ends up getting themselves involved in each other’s lives as the show goes on. After tragically losing his lovely wife, Shin Ju Kyung, in an accident, Gi Yun is heartbroken but focuses on making his company, WJ Entertainment successful.
Jung Woo Hyuk is a rookie actor who tries to make a name for himself in the industry and misses his old mentor, Shin Ju Kyung. Yes, it’s the same Shin Ju Kyung that married Gi Yun. The twist is that the new employee at NA Entertainment (Where Woo Hyuk works), Seo Hee Jae, looks exactly like Shin Ju Kyung and seems to have a secret connection with the deceased heiress.

The cast of Elegant Empire consists of Han Ji Wan as Seo Hee Jae & Shin Ju Kyung, Kim Ji Woo plays the role of Jang Gi Yoon, Kang Yul stars as Jung Woo Hyeok, and Son Sung Yoon plays Jacqueline Taylor. Other crew members are Lee Sang Bo starring in the role of Na Seung Pil and Kim Ga Ran as Oh Naa Hee.
Elegant Empire begins with an introduction to WJ Entertainment, a million-dollar company that’s now solely managed by Gi Yun, an attractive yet clever businessman. As admirable as Gi Yun is, he also seems to be holding some kind of dark secret that bothers him every day. Shin Ju Kyung was a smart woman who married Gi Yun and was able to live a better life. However, after a terrible incident, Ju Kyung loses everything that she had worked so hard for.
Jung Woo Hyuk used to be one of Shin Ju Kyung’s students when she used to work as a mentor. The accident leaves Woo Hyuk with a broken heart as he really liked Shin Ju Kyung. Seo Hee Jae arrives to work at NA Entertainment and soon asks everyone about Shin Ju Kyung’s whereabouts. She is shocked to know that she died in an unfortunate accident, so Seo Hee Jae makes up her mind to find out what truly happened to Shin Ju Kyung.
