My Life As Inukai-san’s Dog Episode 10: Recap
Episode 10 of My Life As Inukai-san’s Dog is titled “Pochita.” The beginning of the episode is a continuation of the 9th one, where Nekotani starts questioning whether our main character, the dog, is actually a human or not.
However, she loses her train of thought after the dogs find her. Panicking, she starts running with Pochita, who figures out that the dogs are chasing her because she smells like a hot dog. Pochita jumps on Nekotani and uses her ears to steer her in the direction of the pool.
Nekotani jumps into the pool, and the dogs give up on their chase. Inukai catches up to them and is envious of the fact that Nekotani is spending a lot of time with Pochita. She gets more frustrated after seeing Pochita ogling Nekotani as she changes out of her wet clothes.
The scene of the pool and Nekotani changing her wet clothes shows a lot of fan service. Inukai combs Nekotani’s hair which makes her nostalgic as they used to do that a lot as kids. The second half of the anime episode shows Nekotani being disappointed in her paper chain. However, Pochita gets paint from a nearby classroom on his paws and starts putting pawprints on the paper chain.
Inukai is seen to be very introverted around her classmates who are organizing a dog-themed cafe. Inukai is shy to present her paper chain because she has a tough time talking to people, but Pochita helps her out by showing the chain, which impresses the classmates because it blends well with their cafe theme.
We get to learn that Inukai fell into despair after her previous dog named Pochita as well had died. Our main character starts losing his resolve to become human again because he is concerned about the well-being of Inukai and how she would react if he disappeared as a dog from her life. Tsukishiro, another character, appears in a Bunny Costume.
She said that her class was doing a bunny cafe. After noticing that Pochita is a bit of a pervert who cannot resist staring at beautiful women, Tsukishiro challenges Inukai to see which of their classes makes the most money at the festival.
They both challenged each other, wit Tsukishiro stating that if she won, she would get to play with Pochita for a day, and if Inukai won, then Tsukishiro would have to stay away from Pochita. And thus, the episode ended with the battle between the dog and the bunny, which will be waged in the next episode.
My Life As Inukai-san’s Dog Episode 10: Review
There is always one controversial anime in the community that is released each year. My Life As Inukai-san’s Dog is probably that one anime. After its release, it became one of the most controversial anime series because it was dangerously close to zoophilia. Since Episode 1, we get to see a lot of uncomfortable moments, like the girl licking the dog with a lot of sexual overtones.
In this episode, we see some bright stuff. We do not focus only on the fan service (the episode does have two big scenes of fan service: The pool and the changing of clothes). We also get to learn Inukai’s backstory. She has had trouble talking to other people ever since her older dog, Pochita, passed away. She was shattered after his death and kept herself away from other people.
However, the main character tries to help her break out of her shell by showing her as a reliable person to her classmates. The anime shifted from being a romantic, erotic comedy and showed more humanistic elements, and it’s quite heartwarming.
But those moments as soon as we get to witness more fan service as Tsukishiro enters the classroom wearing a bunny costume, and we get back to the lewd moments. In a series like this, there is no logic associated. However, the one question I keep pondering is how the girls still have not been able to catch up with the fact that the main character is a dog.
Nekotani starts questioning him as an Akita Inu, and Tsukishiro calls the dog ‘senpai,’ so I believe that they have somehow caught up on that, but there are no further proceedings, keeping this fact in detail. As for Inukai, I do not think she would catch up on this because she thinks of the main character as a dog and also that she is a little strange in her mannerisms towards Pochita.
My Life As Inukai-san’s Dog Episode 10 is a fun watch. There is a lot of fan service in the anime series, and if you are someone who wants to watch an erotic comedy series, then this anime series provides ample instances of that.
Our Rating: ⭐ (3.6/5).
