1,2,3, All Eyes On Me Ending Explained:
1,2,3, All Eyes On Me begins with a colorful classroom setting with a teacher everyone wishes to have as a kid, as she is a ray of sunshine who brings happiness to everyone around them. The new day in the classroom starts exactly the way you would hope it did in young kids’ life, studying in elementary school with love, fun, and chatter.
As the classroom is in chaos with fun-filled chatter among friends and kids running around the classroom, Mrs. Leena states 1,2,3, and All Eyes Of Me, a phrase she uses to garner attention from her student. Following this, her students reply 1,2, and all eyes are on you, thus showcasing their respect and obedience towards their teacher. As the film moves forward, we see a similar setting as in real elementary schools, with teachers assigning a fun educational activity to their students to complete.
Mrs. Leena assigns her student a fun-filled innocent activity where they have to draw the student sitting across from them. This is followed by a sweet interaction between two little girls, with one instructing the other to pose so she could draw her the way she liked. This is a moment to note as, after all, there was a reason for the focus to be on those two little girls.
At the same time, Ricardo gets into an altercation with Anthony due to the assignment, as the latter doesn’t want to draw Ricardo. This conflict escalated to the point where Mrs. Lenna had to pull Anthony out of the classroom to have a chat with her; in frustration, Ricardo yelled at Mrs. Leena about not being interested in associating with the former classmate, as no other student interacted with Ricardo. As Mrs. Leena is giving a talk to Ricardo, the pair notices a suspicious teenager at the school’s grounds.
Mrs. Leena instructs Anthony to return to the class as she contacts authorities, who give her cold responses and ignores her concerns. As Mrs. Leena is returning to her class, she notices a cross spray painted on the door of the school that is similar to the one that was painted on the door of the class across hers. Soon everything clicks in Mrs. Leena’s mind, and she begins to close the drapes of her window after she notices two teenagers in bulletproof vests talking.
She barricades the doors of her class and instructs her students to switch off their phones to avoid making any sound. Mrs. Leena’s students, unaware of the dangers lurking outside their classroom, innocently think it is a game Mrs. Leena wants to play. Once the shooting begins in the classroom across theirs and the horrifying screams of students fill the corridors, the reality of the situation dawns on the kids, and they begin to panic and become restless.
Mrs. Leena once again uses the phrase, 1,2,3, and All Eyes On Me to garner her student’s attention and instructs them to trust her. She provides lollipops to her students to calm them down while she calculates and accesses her options. Mrs. Leena begins to panic after realizing she can’t do much, and she decides they cannot remain confined in the classroom as the teenagers have already started their shooting spree in the classes across theirs.
As Mrs. Leena again uses her phrase to garner her student’s attention, only this time, the kids don’t dare to speak and get out from under the desks they are hiding in. Mrs. Leena instructs her students to run from their classroom to the building across theirs, as shooters have already been there. The move made by the teacher was risky, but it was the only available option other than awaiting their deaths.
With tear-filled eyes, Mrs. Leena asks her students to close their eyes as soon as they reach the building across from theirs, as she doesn’t want her students to witness the aftermath of the shooting.
Did the student and Mrs. Leena survive the shooting?
The students obey the instructions by Mrs. Leena and run to the building across from theirs and close their eyes as they sit in the classroom silently. Once Mrs. Leena reaches her students, she calms them down and garners their attention by using the same phrase, and starts to count her students to check if all of them made it out safely. The following scene was gut-wrenching as realization daws on Mrs. Lenna that one of her students, Lety, was missing in the crowd.
She begins to call out Lety’s name only to realize she isn’t with them, and in the following scene, we hear a gunshot, and from Mrs. Leena’s expression, we realize Lety has met the same fate as other students. Remember the scene where the two little girls were bonding as one instructed the other to pose, Lety was the girl giving instruction, and now she was no more there.
This traumatizes Mrs. Leena as she begins to weep silently while the students remain unaware of the fact that they lost a friend today. At the same time, Anthony is also missing from Mrs. Leena’s class, and she begins to search for him. Luckily she finds him cowering in the supply closet and hides with him in there. After waiting for the next few minutes in anticipation of the sounds of gunfire size Mrs. Leena and Anthony come out of hiding and run to the parking lot.
The film ends with Mrs. Leena and her students making it out alive, except for Lety. The students reunite with their respective families while Mrs. Leena begins a foundation to make people aware of the firing at schools to prevent a similar situation from occurring in the future.
