After featuring Tammy’s wedding preps in the last season, TLC’s 1000-Lb Sisters returns with a new season that’s going to showcase more about Tammy’s married life and her journey in rehab.
This TLC series revolves around sisters Amy Slaton-Halterman and Tammy Slaton, who are both overweight and have decided to lose some of the extra fat and become a healthy version of themselves. Their experience with weight loss hasn’t been smooth, and the sisters still struggle at times to get rid of their old destructive habits.
Although Tammy and Amy were the only ones to be seen on the TLC show, so far, we have also seen other people from the family, such as Michael Halterman, Amy’s partner, Chris Combs, their brother, and Misty and Amanda.
All of them have the same goal of maintaining a healthy weight and often motivate the sisters on their journey. Season 4 ended with Amy struggling to make the preparations for Tammy’s wedding on time while also taking care of her own needs.
1000-Lb Sisters Season 4: Recap
Season 4 starts with Tammy coming close to death yet another time, and she spends most of the time in rehab in this installment. While the Slaton family adjusts to living without Tammy by their side, Amy reveals the shocking news that she is going to be giving birth soon.
Seeing Tammy put her health in danger made Amy distant, but after finding out that Tammy was trying to become better at rehab, Amy visited her and had a wholesome conversation. The Slaton sisters get to have a heart-to-heart after months.
After having a checkup, Amy is told that she has to get her weight down or that she’ll be risking her and her child’s life. The family says goodbye to one of their dear relatives, and this causes a setback in Tammy’s recovery. As for Chris, he is busy trying to reach his surgery goal and getting rid of the excess skin that’s left behind.
Tammy’s house is mysteriously robbed, with Misty and Amanda being the ones to find out about the theft and then report it to Tammy. Amy’s vitals go out of hand, causing her to be shifted to the hospital immediately.
She has to undergo an immediate C-section to prevent further complications. Tammy’s health gets worse after the robbery, but with a new partner in her life, she’s hopeful of turning things around and leaving rehab soon.
After the goal weight is attained, Tammy undergoes the weight loss surgery but has a hard time dealing with its aftereffects. What surprises the Slaton family the most is Tammy’s impatience to get married to her new partner soon.
With only a few weeks to prepare, it’s now up to Amy, the maid of honor, to get the preparations in order and organize everything for the much-awaited wedding. Tammy had cold feet right before the wedding, leaving the Slatons to wonder if she was making the right decision or not.
