Curses in Jujutsu Kaisen are dangerous. They can prove to be mean and most heinous of creatures at times. They prey on the weak and aim at world domination. However, human-like creatures are not even close to one. They are curses or evil spirits that have been born out of the human world and take strength from malice and wrongdoing. The world of Jujutsu Kaisen is scarred with such humanoid demons, and Jujutsu sorcerers have been trying since time immemorial to exorcise them. Both curses and sorcerers alike have the ability to create an alternate reality where they are close to invincible, but one must be very skillful in the act. As the weaker and less intricate a domain, the greater chances of getting killed.
A bunch of Jujutsu sorcerers from Tokyo and Kyoto have joined forces to exorcise these creatures and set humanity free. However, the plot of JJK begins when Itadori Yuji swallows a Sukuna finger. As a result, his whole body has been turned into a half-curse and half-human. Ryomen Sukuna, the King of Curses, is one of the most formidable of enemies but could not quite take control of Yuji’s body. Itadori’s fate hangs in between as sorcerers are unable to kill him, and he can’t even walk free like a human as he is a potential threat. He must be fed all of the ten fingers in order to bring Sukuna back to life. Curses in the JJK world are always up to some malice, and here is our list for ten times when curses in Jujutsu Kaisen proved they are the worst.
10. Ryomen Sukuna kills half of Shibuya
After getting re-incarnated by Jogo, Sukuna instantly kills Mimiko and Nanako. He gets to know about the spirits’ plan to revive him completely. As Gojo has been held captive, the curses feel optimistic in this pursuit. Jogo pleads with Sukuna to make a permanent biding vow with Yuji so that he gains total control of his body. Sukuna challenges the fearsome Jogo to a duel and challenges him to land a single blow on him. Jogo takes up the offer, and the two have one of the greatest fights of the series. Jogo could not keep up with the King of Curses. His great speed and swift attacks surpassed all of Jogo’s fire-based abilities. Jogo is no match for Sukuna. In a final attempt, he unleashes his ultimate “Maximum: Meteor”.
Meanwhile, as Jujutsu sorcerers Kasukabe and Panda fend off, the curse users of Geto Sukuna appear in between, threatening that he would kill any human in the area that he sees moving. As a result, all of them turn immovable, and Jogo’s meteor starts falling from the sky into the ground destroying a major part of Shibuya.
9. Pseudo-Geto starts the culling games
After the Shibuya Arc, the manga readers were introduced to something new. Of course, it is more fun when our sorcerers are faced with new dangers and difficulties, and they emerge victorious in the end. Now, “The Culling Games” are about to begin, and Pseudo-Geto at given a hint about this in Chapter 136, which will be finally executed by Brain/Kenjaku. You might wonder what might be the worst thing about this.
Well, to put it simply is that humans and sorcerers will be put against each other, and one must be killed. This is a sort of the “survival of the fittest” concept that Kenjaku is going for. It will be quite dreadful to see the world of chaos that Kenjaku is planning to create where there will be chaos which even he cannot control. It definitely gets a mention in our list of Ten times when curses in Jujutsu Kaisen proved they are the worst.

However, it turned out that Sukuna declined Yuji’s request and merely laughed at Itadori’s situation. Itadori went on his own to attack Mahito and focussed all of his hatred and strength towards him. It was this incident after which Mahito decided that Itadori was his true rival.
7. Ryomen Sukuna kills Nanako and Mimiko
As all the Jujutsu Kaisen fans know, Yuji is known for his powers to retain his control over his body while ingesting Sukuna’s (The King of Curses) finger. However, in chapter 112 of the manga, we see Yuji ingesting ten fingers at once, and this does have a dire consequence on everyone. As Yuji has taken so many fingers at once, it seems that Sukuna now has full control over Yuji’s body; and Yuji has become powerless. But how does this happen?
Nanako and Mimiko, the two girls rescued by Geto, feed Yuji Sukuna’s fingers to awaken the King of Curses and get his help in saving Geto from Kenjaku. However, things do not exactly go their way when Sukuna awakens. When they ask for his help, he kills them ruthlessly– all because of his arrogance and declares he won’t help someone just because they asked. 3. Special grade curse that kills an entire detention center
By now, it is quite established that Sukuna is one of the most powerful of all curses. Hence, in the Cursed Womb Arc, when we first saw the finger bearers, we were quite afraid of how much Sukuna could create chaos with his own power. It was the first time perhaps when Yuji had used Sukuna without any restriction. Though Sukuna had defeated the Special grade finger bearers within moments, it was quite daunting to find out the amount of damage they did and managed to kill an entire detention center. As the Arc was in the very beginning, one is forced to think how many powerful villains and curses are yet to come in the story.
2. Pseudo-Geto and his army of curses using an entire city only to put Gojo in the prison realm
The prison realm is considered to be a special grade curse object that contains a number of inescapable pocket dimensions. It can seal almost anything inside of it. The prison realm was all of Pseudo-Geto’s plan. Thus, Pseudo-Geto convinces Mahito and an army of special grade cursed spirits to assemble. As other curses like Jogo, Hanami, and Choso keep Gojo busy, Ghetto opened the eye to the Prison Realm. But, while escaping Gojo’s attention is caught by Pseudo-Geto’s very first appearance since the real Suguru Geto’s death. Thus, the shocked Gojo is caught up in the prison realm. It is definitely shocking and deserves a position in our list of reasons why curses in Jujutsu Kaisen are simply the worst.

Kenjaku is the current antagonist of the series, and he has done quite a lot of awful things. However, using a woman to create hybrids still remains one of the most gruesome things in the series.
