Who Is Lord Voldemort?
Marking his first impression as the antagonist in Harry Potter’s first film, Lord Voldemort gave the creeps to the viewers with his vile appearance. Lord Voldemort is the son of Thomas Riddle and Merope Gaunt, who served as the founder of Hogwarts, born on 31 December 1926.
Voldemort is the reason behind Harry becoming an orphan as a child, thus being forced to be raised under the abusive household of his aunt and uncle until Hagrid recused him. Lord Voldemort is none other than Tom Marvolo Riddle, a character of Harry Potter played by Ian Hart and Ralph Fiennes throughout the franchise.
Lord Voldemort serves as the archenemy of Potter, someone whose name even wizards fear not to utter. Being the leader of Death Eaters, a group of a distinguished group of evil wizards, Lord Voldemort has only one aim, and that is to get rid of the muggles and conquer both worlds.
When Voldemort came to the end of Harry’s life, he got saved due to Lily’s willingness to sacrifice herself for her baby. Voldemort tried to end Harry’s life with the help of the Killing Curse, which backfired, leading him to get disembodied and Harry with a scar.
Voldemort has pale skin, snake-like slit nostrils, a skull-like face, and cat-like pupils. His body is like a skeleton with a long body and unnatural fingers. Initially, Voldemort was a handsome young man who could have charmed anyone he wanted.
His transformation into the demonic form was the direct result of creating his Horcruxes. Voldemortz’s personality is similar to a psychopath and the most evil wizard.
Why Did Voldemort Want To Kill Harry?
Everyone is excited to know the reason behind Lord Voldermortz’s motive towards ending the life of Harry, and it is a prophecy he heard through Snape. It all began when Sybil Trelawney, an eccentric young teacher, came to Hogwarts to meet Albus Dumbledore for an interview.
She was interviewing for the position of Divinations Professor, and while she failed to impress Dumbledore during the interview, she had an actual trance. During her trance, Sybil prophesied the arrival of Harry, as in a child will be born in July of 1980 with the power to beat the dark lord.
Severus Snape was caught eavesdropping by Dumbledore and kicked out of Hogwarts. Snape informed the half-baked prophecy he heard to Lord Voldemort as he didn’t hear the end of the prophecy.
Even though there were two boys who fit the prophecy, Voldemort focused on Harry due to him being a half-blood. Harry and Voldemortz had been half-blooded, and the other reason was the prophecy stated Voldemortz would mark the child as his equal, which was done when a scar appeared on Harry’s head.
