Lyla reaches her forest cabin on her way back. She spent half a day walking to get there and come back, yet she was empty-handed. Lyla despised Ariadne because of the way she was treated. She spent a decade locked away, and when she turned 10, she was banished to the forest cabin far away from everyone.

In chapter 13 of Beast’s Flower, we see Lyla running away from the Prince while he is trying to convince her to go with him. Lyla told him she’d go to her parent’s house, and the Prince insisted on seeing her off.

The scared guard points his weapon at her, but soon the Lord arrives and tells him to go away. Lyla tells her father that her house burned down and that she can’t go back there. But her father’s reaction was strange. She thought he knew the reason and wondered if he was going to kill her.

Her father tells her he’s scared that his business will go down if the whole area gets to know that she’s his daughter, and it’s better she lives far off alone. He tells her to live like a dead rat there, and he spreads the rumors that she’s dead.

The Prince then goes to the Lord’s house to talk about his marriage with his daughter. He asked the Lord why he came to burn down his soon-to-be wife’s house. Confused, the Lord says he knows the bride and if he’s talking about his second daughter.

He said his daughter had a few problems when she was born, and she needed to be taught a lesson. The Prince’s stare got cold, and he questioned the Lord, asking if he was trying to trick him.
