The 3rd and final season of Star Trek: Picard has started airing its episodes. The newest season revolves around a final, intense mission that has Picard calling all his comrades he has gathered over the years.
Produced by Kurtzman and creators like Akiva Goldsman, this show is another addition to the Star Trek world that was brought in later on in an attempt to broaden and diversify its universe’s storylines. Picard was first seen on January 23rd, 2020, although rumors of the show being in production go as back as Mid 2018. It stars Patrick Stewart as the same character he played in many of Star Trek‘s movies and spin-offs. Jean-Luc Picard, Stewart’s character is an admiral of the infamous Starfleet crew.
The plot of the show began with Picard retiring from the escapades and adopting a much calmer life in the countryside in his family’s vineyards. Despite his age, he does not hesitate to get back into the game when he’s visited by a Synth, or a modified artificial human, claiming that she was the offspring of Picard’s confidant, Data. As he was already saddened by his death, Jean takes up the challenge to find out what exactly is the story behind the synths and their supposed connection to Data.
The first season follows the story of the sisters, while the second takes a completely different approach. This is because Star Trek: Picard was made with the intention that each season would cover a different part of Picard’s life as an admiral of the ship. Being the 8th installment of the franchise, Picard focuses much more on characters and the story behind them and has a slower pace than other franchise series.
When the 10-episode season became a huge hit within the community, new seasons of Picard were aired each year. The show boasts an Award for its prosthetic makeup and several other nominations. The newest season of the show is about to focus on a much larger problem that has Jean asking for help from both generations of his life.
Star Trek: Picard Season 3: The Cast of The Show
The third season will have the same main characters as the first and second seasons except for a few new characters. Patrick Stewart will be starring as Jean Luc-Picard, while Alison Pill plays the role of Agnes Jurati. Dahj and all other similar synths are played by Isa Briones. Michelle Hurd acts as Raffi, an agent that used to be a member of the ship from its previous adventures.
Picard is shown to have a terminal illness in season 1. He ends up dying due to combat and is later brought back to life when his consciousness is transferred to another artificial body. Sir Patrick Stewart is an award-winning actor who has been a part of the show ever since its movies were aired in the 90s and early 2000s. His first appearance was through the show Coronation Street and later in Doctor Who. With an OBE and Hollywood Walk of Fame star on his name, Patrick has managed to permanently carve his name into the world of Cinema and the Star Trek Universe.
Other cast members of Star Trek: Picard include the actor Santiago Cabrera playing the role of Christobal Rios. During the 2nd season’s end, he’s seen abandoning his life in the actual timeline and staying back in 2024. Elnor, who dies but is revived in the real dimension, is played by Evan Evagora. Seven of Nine, another one of the ship’s crew is portrayed by Jeri Ryan. Orla Bardy stars as both Laris and Tallinn. Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher) and Ed Speleers (Jack Crusher) are new cast members that are seen in Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard.
Star Trek: Picard Season 2: Recap
Season 2, which was aired on March 3rd, 2022, featured the Starfleet crew coming across a problem that may end up being a huge threat to the world’s existence. While on a mission, Christobal Rios, Raffi Musiker, Dr. Agnes Jurati, and Seven of Nine get ahold of the mysterious signals. They call upon Picard (who had been living with Larys at Chateau Picard) once again, but soon their ship is attacked by a queen of the Borgs. To prevent the ship’s members from being attacked by the Queen, Picard starts a self-destruction program on the ship.
When he comes back to his senses, he sees that he had traveled to his home in another dimension. A man named Q informs Jean of his location, which was the era when humans had designed a group that would attack and eradicate any alien species. Q was a part of this Xenophobic Confederation of Earth. He lets Jean know that he is selected as the frontier of the group and would be allowed to lead the group forward. When he sees the prisoners that the group had collected, Picard comes across the Borg Queen’s alternate being.
After everyone else from Starfleet meets up in this new reality, they learn from the last remaining Borg queen that the world is in danger due to the Xenophobic Federation and that it was up to Jean and his crew to prevent them from reaching their ultimate goals. Agnes, Rafi, and Elenor are the ones that get ahold of the communication systems of the federation, while Picard and the others help prevent the execution of the queen.
After being released, the queen guides Starfleet to the time and year they must go back to, which turns out to be the year 2024. As they try to leave, they are attacked by the Magistrate, who is then removed from the way when Seven and others fight back. The queen products the ship into the specific year while also informing about The Watcher, a person who played a significant role in changing the timeline of the universe.
Eleanor dies in the process, while Rios is reincarnated as a human in an immigrant hospital. Picard and Agnes are back at the ship, and Agnes connects herself to the mind of the queen. She learns the exact location and gets more specific details, stating that the main event would happen on April 15th, 2024. Picard asks Gainan for help, who informs him about a woman named Tallinn that was sent to earth to be a guardian angel of Renee Picard, Jean’s ancestor. She was the woman who was going to play a huge role in saving the world from destruction by future humans.
Dr. Adam Sung, who we know played a huge role in season 1, is seen making a deal with someone. Agnes is later alone with the queen, who then uses the opportunity to take over her mind completely. Back on earth, Jean helps Renee follow the right path by giving her an example of his mother. The queen takes more control over Agnes. While Picard asks for help from Gainan, they are arrested by an FBI agent. The rest of the Starfleet crew see Agnes having less control over her consciousness.
The queen tries to form her world once again by forming a friendship with Sung. When Picard reaches the place, he is attacked by Queen’s followers. After a series of events, the Borg ruler is born once again while Tallinn ends up sacrificing herself. Picard and his crew manage to save the day and even find love after the adventurous mission.
