Vinland Saga Season 2 Episode 7 titled “Iron Fist Ketil” saw Thorfinn and Einar continuing their work on the farm and when the former asks what they should be doing next, Einar forces him to pray with him as it is his next step. Meanwhile, Ketil’s wife nags Arnhied for chatting with the other slaves and asks to prepare breakfast and lunch as Ketil returns with the Thing.
Ketil returns from the Thing with his firstborn son Thorgil who was away at war with the new king of England Canute and speaks greatly about him. Snake brings in the Theif that has been stealing from the farm and asks Ketil to pass judgment on them. As the family meets up at the table, Thorgil speaks about Ketil and how he was a true warrior back then known as “Iron Fist Ketil” and also teases Olmar.
As for taking care of the thief who is children, Thorgil suggests cutting one hand each as a punishment for it. Ketil’s monologue reveals that he is scared of his own son because of his presence. Patre suggests that the children should work on his farm because their father owes them a debt and for punishment, they should get a beating.
Thorgil steps in to beat the boy and only after a single strike, Ketil says he will do it himself fearing that Thorgil might kill the boy. Later at night, Ketil speaks to Arnheid as he is sobbing in her lap that he lied about all the stuff of him being a warrior because he wanted to make a presence in the society and is afraid of wars and stuff including his own son.
