Solo leveling has become one of the most popular manhwas worldwide and set the trend for the game system sub-genre. Written by Cho-Gung and illustrated by Jang Suk-Rang, it is undoubtedly one of the fan favorites globally, with an anime adaptation soon to be released.
Solo Leveling follows the story of Sung Jin-Woo, a young man who was an E-rank hunter – the lowest of the low. Despite his weak status, he has a secret – he possesses a unique power that allows him to see an interface like in a game, which enables him to level up his abilities like a character in an RPG.
After a disastrous raid, Sung Jin-Woo is the only survivor and is left in a coma. When he awakens, he discovers that he has become a “player” in a world filled with monsters and magic. He can level up his powers and skills by defeating monsters and completing quests, all while discovering the secrets of this new world.
As Sung Jin-Woo progresses through the ranks, he faces increasingly difficult challenges, including fighting powerful monsters and uncovering a conspiracy within the hunter’s guild. But as he gains more power, he also attracts more attention from those who would use his abilities for their own gain.
With the help of his fellow hunters and newfound allies, Sung Jin-Woo must navigate this dangerous new world and discover the truth behind his powers. But as he rises through the ranks, he begins to realize that the true enemy may be much closer than he ever imagined, and he must be prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice to protect those he loves.
