Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch 2 Physical Pre-Orders Are Live With $10 Discount as 27GB File Size Revealed

Nintendo has opened pre-orders for the physical version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nintendo Switch 2 following its major 40th anniversary presentation. The highly anticipated remake is scheduled to launch on November 5, 2026, and its physical edition is currently available with a $10 discount at Amazon, according to the retailer listing reported by Nintendo-focused outlet Nintendo Life.

The physical release is priced higher than the digital edition under Nintendo’s current Switch 2 pricing structure. The digital version carries a $59.99 MSRP on Nintendo’s official store, while physical editions of Nintendo-published Switch 2 exclusives can have a higher recommended price.

At the same time, Nintendo has officially listed an estimated 27GB file size for Ocarina of Time. That makes the remake a notably larger download than the original Nintendo 64 game, reflecting the substantial visual and technical upgrades being introduced for Switch 2.

Ocarina of Time Physical Edition Gets Special Launch Packaging

The physical version could be particularly appealing to collectors because Nintendo has confirmed special packaging for the first print run. Initial copies will feature textured foil cover art, although the special packaging is only available while supplies last.

The $10 Amazon discount therefore gives prospective buyers an opportunity to secure the physical remake for less while also potentially getting the limited first-print packaging. However, availability of the promotional price and special packaging can change, so buyers interested in the collector-oriented edition may want to order early.

Nintendo has rebuilt Ocarina of Time specifically for Nintendo Switch 2 rather than simply presenting the original Nintendo 64 version. The remake features completely overhauled visuals, refreshed sound and symphonic orchestral music, alongside fully voiced cutscenes and expanded character dialogue.

Gameplay has also been modernized. Link can now jump and dash using new controls, while camera movement has been redesigned to give players greater freedom when exploring Hyrule.

The adventure retains its familiar structure across Hyrule, including its towns, dungeons, temples and expansive Hyrule Field. Players can also ride a horse, solve environmental puzzles and use Link’s various weapons and items while progressing through his journey across two different eras.

Nintendo Confirms 27GB Estimated File Size

The newly revealed 27GB estimated file size is one of the more notable details for Switch 2 owners preparing for the remake. Nintendo’s official listing confirms that figure while explicitly noting that the download requirement is an estimate and could change before launch.

The larger installation is unsurprising given the remake’s technical ambitions. Nintendo describes the game as featuring completely overhauled visuals, remodeled locations, expanded dialogue, voiced sequences, improved performance and orchestral music.

The remake also introduces the new Threads of Time feature, which allows players to review their progress, objectives and story journey through a growing tapestry. The game additionally supports the Switch 2’s built-in microphone, allowing players to hum learned ocarina melodies for Link to perform.
