Yellowjackets Plot
In 1996, a high school soccer team named Yellowjackets got selected for go nationals for their soccer match, but while on the way, the plane crashed, and they were left injured in the middle of the Wilderness. In the present day, we see Jessica Roberts, a reporter from Star Ledger, meets with a few teachers of their high school regarding the plane crash and the team Yellowjackets, but nobody knows what happened in the dark.
She meets Shauna, one of the survivors of the plane crash, to interview her about this but doesn’t get much information. Meanwhile, Natalie, another survivor, has just come out of rehab for a drinking addiction. After this, Shauna meets Taissa, another survivor who is now running for state senator, to warn her about the reporter and says that they cannot let the truth come out.
Back in 1996, we see a group of cannibals eating fresh meat, and one of them reveals her face, young Misty, also one of the survivors. The plane crashes in the Ontario Wilderness, which kills a few and injuring others. Ben, the assistant coach, loses his leg. Presently, Shauna gets into a minor accident with a guy named Adam and exchanges their numbers.
Natalie receives a postcard with an occult symbol from the Wilderness and goes to Misty, thinking she might be blackmailing her. Still, Misty tells her that she also got one, and she shows her findings of the other survivors, including Travis’s id. Natalie, still in love with Travis, tries reaching him but finds that he committed suicide, but she doesn’t believe it.
Back in the Wilderness, the team finds a cabin Lottie is hesitant about, with a dead body in the attic. Later, Ben teaches hunting and sends Natalie and Travis to hunt for food. Later, in the present day, Natalie meets Kevin, her childhood best friend, and asks for his help regarding Travis’s death. In 1996, the team found a plane, and Laura Lee tried to fly it but couldn’t. In 2021, Natalie asked Misty for help finding the cause behind Travis’s death. Besides, Taissa starts getting hallucinations, causing strains in her relationship with her wife, and kid, Sammy.
In the past, Shauna tells Jackie about her pregnancy but lies about who is responsible. Later, the girls have a séance for fun, but Lottie gets possessed and talks about somebody needing blood. In the present, Misty gets Travis’s death report and sees a symbol forming with the pictures. Later Taissa and Natalie get texts from an unknown person asking for 50 grand cash in return for keeping their mouth shut about what happened in the past. They give the cash but are unable to catch him.
Later, we see that Taissa has a habit of sleepwalking and injuring herself. In the Wilderness, a few girls go to seek help, and Shauna tells Jackie about her pregnancy but lies about who is responsible. Meanwhile, in the present, Misty kidnaps the reporter, Jessica, and she tells Misty that Taissa has sent her to check on the girls not to spill the secret. Later, Shauna meets Adam and suspects he might be the one who is blackmailing everyone.
In the past, Taissa screws up the first watch and sleepwalks up to the tree, making it easier for wolves to attack the girls, and Van gets brutally injured. They get back to the cabin and stitch her wounds. Later, Laura Lee tries to fly the plane but dies because of the explosion. Presently, Natalie learns new information regarding Travis, given by Misty. Shauna confronts Adam about the glitter he found when he was at her home; when he denies her allegation, she stabs him.
In 1996, Jackie suggested a party, but it gets weird because the mushrooms Misty got only for Ben were used in the soup. Shauna almost kills Travis but is stopped by Natalie and Jackie. Shauna learns that her husband was blackmailing the other two because he needed money. Shauna doesn’t tell this to Natalie and Taissa and takes their help in getting rid of the body.
Returning to the past, Shauna and Jackie get into an argument, and it is revealed that Shauna is carrying Jeff’s child, who is Jackie’s boyfriend. After this, Jackie leaves the cabin and, the next day, s found dead because of the cold. In the present day, Natalie tries suicide, but a group of people kidnaps her. Later, Suzie calls her to tell her that Lottie Matthews cleared Travis’s account, and it ends here.

Yellowjackets Review
Yellowjacket is a story where a group of high school teenagers suffers a plane crash in the Wilderness while going for their national match. The story is shown on a dual timeline where we see the scenes of 1996 and 2021.
Yellowjacket has a unique and gripping storyline that can keep the audience hooked to the show. The blend of horror, trauma, survival, suspense, and supernatural elements is amazing. Each character in this show has been so perfectly cast, and also, for dual timelines, they have done an incredible job of matching a younger actor with an old actor. Yellowjackets have amazingly mastered mysteries in both timelines. It just goes on getting stronger through each episode.
Yellowjackets is a very well-written and smartly executed thriller show. Also, the soundtrack is great. The show is riddled with mysteries, emotions, adventure, and whatnot. The show can get dark and disturbing in a few scenes. Every actor has done a phenomenal job, but the part I’ve been more impressed with is the cast of the 1996 storyline. The actors are more complex in their way. The focus is given to everyone and not just one or more characters. Many side plots are unfolding that contribute to the overall amazing story.
The opening scene is intriguing as we see some ritual and cannibalistic hunt of a girl in the group. Several mysteries are yet to be resolved. Everybody has the same question about how the girls survived in the Wilderness for so long. Each character has a tragic backstory, and their relationship dynamics are very strong and interesting. The story opens so many doors to so many realms of possibility.
