At WWE Extreme Rules 2022, Edge’s feud with The Judgment Day, the group he founded, is also expected to reach a breaking point. He has been fighting the team for several months in an effort to eliminate them, and on this show, he will compete against Finn Balor in an I Quit Match.
After GUNTHER successfully defended his IC title against Sheamus on Friday, the Brawling Brutes and Imperium will engage in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook match.
With the most recent hint pointing to WWE’s Extreme Rules, the mystery White Rabbit vignettes circulating on social media over the last few weeks will finally be revealed.
Seth Rollins and Riddle will end their bitter feud in the first-ever Fight Pit match to take place on the main roster during the show. Daniel Cormier, a former UFC champion, will serve as the special guest referee to guarantee a fair call.
Here are all the WWE Extreme Rules 2022 Results:
Imperium vs. The Brawling Brutes (Donnybrook Match)
The two teams don’t waste any time and get to fighting. Butch beats up Giovanni Vinci at the announcer’s table, while Ludwig Kaiser is hung from the tree of doom with a shillelagh that has been thrust in front of him and pushed into his neck. But GUNTHER enters with a chop, and Imperium soon destroys all of its opponents to seize control.
Sheamus finds it annoying that Imperium is starting to ruin the bar at ringside, but when he tries to exact revenge, things turn into a three-on-one fight, and he is pushed into the steel steps. When Butch attempts to intervene, Vinci knocks him into the barricade, breaking it. Then GUNTHER starts delivering his chops on Sheamus while holding him against the bar before dropping him directly to the bar.
Imperium clears the announcement table, but Holland sabotages the plans as everyone fights, and Butch eventually moonsaults from the top of the barrels to clean the area. GUNTHER assaults Sheamus inside the ring with a massive shillelagh, but Sheamus dodges it in time. The Brawling Brutes then restrain GUNTHER, allowing Sheamus to smack him in the face with a shillelagh as Butch and Holland deal the same treatment to the other members. Sheamus carries GUNTHER outside the ring and smashes a massive Celtic Cross thru the announce table! After returning to the ring, Sheamus successfully executes the Brogue Kick while holding Vinci.
Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey (WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship)
Immediately, Liv Morgan rushes for her bat, but Ronda Rousey grabs her, throws her to the ground, and locks in a submission that she escapes by attempting a pinfall. Morgan snatches the bag after Rousey kicks it out, but when Morgan tries to apply it, Rousey stops it and takes it for herself. However, before the Ankle Lock can be applied, she strikes Morgan in the midsection with a knee.
She then uses it to trap her on the ring post and begins to strike Morgan’s legs with the bat as she places a table in the ring. However, Morgan fights back by forcing her into the ring apron. She attempts to put it in the corner, but Rousey interrupts her by smashing her head-first into the wood. She then locks in a submission by making use of the ring apron. They exit the ring, and Morgan attacks Rousey with a chair she puts up between the turnbuckles. However, she is unable to get Rousey into that area before the chair collapses.
The challenger is then put on a table by Morgan, who then hits with a senton. However, Rousey kicks out and tries to hold in an armbar immediately. Rousey kicks out once more and reapplies the submission after Morgan pushes out and throws a Powerbomb into the crumpled table. She then enters another position and chokes Morgan between her thighs, ramming the table into Morgan’s face as she passes out, and we have a new champion.
Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross (Strap Match)
Karrion Kross first refuses to put the strap on and tosses it outside the ring. Drew McIntyre pulls it to divert Scarlett, and as the Scotsman jumps him to gain the upper hand, he attacks him outside the ring as they cross the barricade and run into the spectators. The two guys then brawl while returning to the ringside area, where McIntyre delivers a suplex.
In response to Scarlett’s cries for more, Kross uses the weapon to simply beat down on his opponent’s shoulder. Back in the ring, Kross attempts to hit McIntyre with the Doomsday Saito. However, McIntyre kicks out, inviting more whips from the strap. After taking a few shots, McIntyre regains his composure and starts hitting clotheslines and a belly-to-belly toss. Kross tries to land an elbow strike, but Drew counters with a Spinebuster, nearly knocking him to the ground.
Later, after exchanging blows and using the neck strap to smack each other as hard as they could, McIntyre comes out on top after landing the Futureshock DDT! McIntyre searches for Claymore, but Scarlett blocks his path once more. He tries to move her, but she tugs him back and sprays some liquid into his eyes, making him blind. Kross uses the Kross Hammer to win from behind as McIntyre holds his face.
Bianca Belair vs. Bayley (WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match)
The two women start out by attacking each other, then after that, they go outside to grab a ladder for themselves, which they later bring into the ring. Bayley seeks to use her ladder as a weapon when Bianca Belair grabs a bigger one, starting a tug of war that sends her to the ground, but she immediately stops her rival from climbing. After that, they start fighting outside as Belair is thrown against a ladder that is set up on the ring floor.
Immediately, as Bayley rushes into the corner, Belair moves, and Bayley’s knee collides with the turnbuckles, resulting in the KOD! Bayley then takes out the hinge of her knee brace. Belair climbs the ladder to the top, but when she thinks the match is won, Damage CTRL shows up and jumps her. Belair then tries to fight, and while both women are on her shoulders at once, she hits a double KOD!
Then, as the two rush up the ladder, Bayley slams Belair into the ladder, using her hair as leverage. The champion swiftly recovers and smacks her with the braid to knock Bayley back down before delivering another blow from her hair. Then Bayley tries to grasp a ladder rung while she is looking for the KOD, but Belair hits the KOD, throwing Bayley onto the ladder and keeping the championship.
Finn Balor vs. Edge (I Quit Match)
Edge runs at Finn Balor immediately and begins to attack him before controlling the situation with an elbow and a swinging neck breaker. The Judgment Day star counters with an attack of his very own as he focuses on his opponent’s knee and pulls it across the second rope before slipping into the Figure Four Leglock, where they trade blows for the remainder of the match.
Edge fights him off before launching a spear at Balor through the ropes, taking out Dominik Mysterio and Priest in the process. When Rhea Ripley suddenly appears, she ties Edge to the top rope and prevents him from using a spear, allowing The Judgment Day to knock him down. Rey Mysterio comes and attacks Priest and Balor, but his kid soon knocks him down. Balor then pulls out a kendo stick and begins attacking his back.
Then Beth Pheonix appears and knocks Priest, forcing Dominik to back off, and then she Spears Ripley as she and Ripley engage in back-and-forth fighting inside the ring! She ends up getting the key and frees her husband, who quickly Spears Priest! Then, when Dominik tries to shake his hand, Edge strikes him with a low blow similar to how Dom did to him in Cardiff. However, Balor then comes at him from behind, only for him to take a spear! He follows it up with a second one, and Edge successfully throws the third Spear.
As Edge prepares to use the chair’s bottom bar on Balor, Ripley strikes Phoenix with brass knuckles, rendering him unconscious. Edge rushes to help her but is jumped by Priest; as a result, Balor executes the Coupe De Grace three times in succession. Edge continues to refuse to give up, so Ripley walks to his unconscious wife and sets up a chair beneath her as Balor keeps insisting he say it, and just as she prepares to strike her, Edge says it, and we have a winner as Finn Balor.
Matt Riddle vs. Seth Rollins (Fight Pit Match)
Matt Riddle displays his familiarity by climbing the cage quickly and landing with a kick to the head. This gives him the upper hand as he fights Seth Rollins from below. He begins hitting Rollins but unintentionally elbows Daniel Cormier in the face. He then drags Riddle aside to talk to him, allowing Rollins to jump from behind and push him into the steel.
Rollins gives Riddle a few superkicks, and Cormier starts the count. He continues the assault by slowly trying to climb the steel to land a Frog Splash with a twist, but Riddle climbs up again, causing Rollins to start kicking at his head. Despite Rollins’ dominance, Riddle shows up with an RKO, putting both men out for the count. Then, as Riddle attempts another RKO, Rollins escapes it and hits with the Stomp instead as the two trade blows!
Rollins then decides to climb the steel to the stage above as he marches around to the sound of his fans, but Riddle rushes up to look for him just as Rollins begins the attack while Riddle is still holding to the metal chain. Rollins tries to knock Riddle to the ground, but he takes the chain and skips across. When Riddle turns around to go back, Rollins knocks him down with a Pedigree. Then, as Rollins falls to the ring, he attempts a Stomp, blocked and turned into an RKO.
Riddle seizes the chance and hits a Floating Bro from the top platform of the fight pit, sending his opponent flying to the ground. The two men stand up, and Riddle holds in an arm submission. Rollins tries to escape by repeatedly smashing into the steel frame, but Riddle won’t release the hold, and Rollins eventually taps out after Riddle switches to the Triangle Choke.
Bray Wyatt Returns
The lights go out as Riddle reaches the top of the ramp, and Michael Cole wonders, “Are we still on the air?” We are then brought to the Firefly Funhouse, where everything is buried in cobwebs until a television appears and someone speaking in a mask asks, “Who killed the world?” A door is then displayed at the top of the ring. He says that they did, and then the stage door on the stage is smashed open to reveal a lantern. The masked man then appears in person to cries of “holy sh*t,” removes his mask, and it is Bray Wyatt! He orders the camera to “Run,” extinguishes the light, and the show ends.
