The Dragon Ball Franchise
Imagine a reality where Earth becomes a playground for intense battles between good and evil, and where Goku, our spiky-haired protagonist, unleashes unbeatable power and strength. That’s Dragon Ball for you. With each mind-blowing transformation, Goku powers up, reaching levels that make Superman question his gym routine.
Alongside Goku’s squad of super-powered buddies, including the ever-cool Vegeta, the sassy Piccolo, and the mischievous Trunks, they form the most badass “The Boys” to hit the anime scene. Debuted in 1984, this long-running shonen series created core memories for 80 per cent of millennials today. Almost everyone in the anime community has watched at least one episode of the series.
Tetsuro Kodama directed the anime film, while Akira Toriyama, the creator of the franchise, handled character designs, screenplay and the original story for the movie. Naoki Sato composed the music, Chikashi Kubota directed the animation, Nobuhito Sue was the art director and Jae Hoon Jung acted as CGI director.
The Plot and Cast of the Film
Remember the notorious Red Ribbon Army that Goku wiped out? Well, they make a comeback in this movie, but this time, they’ve got a twist up their sleeve. Meet Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, the ultimate Androids created by die-hard Red Ribbon Army followers. These androids aren’t out to wreak havoc; they actually think they’re the good guys, calling themselves “Super Heroes.”
But that’s not it. They’ve set their sights on none other than Piccolo and Gohan, ready to battle it out against them. As danger approaches, it’s time for the world to awaken a new kind of hero, one who can stand up against this relentless force, because the fate of the universe is on the line!
The cast includes Gohan, Goku and Goten, all voiced by Masako Nozawa, Piccolo, voiced by Toshio Furukawa, Vegeta, voiced by Ryo Horikawa, and finally, Gamma 1 and 2, voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya and Mamoru Miyano respectively.
If you’re a die-hard fan of Dragon Ball, you will definitely love this film. Coming back to nostalgic series whenever there’s a new addition, will forever be exciting. After watching this movie, even if I had complaints about it at all, I walked away with a smile on my face, all because I got to see these beloved characters in action yet again.
