Former D1CE member Woo Jin Young is preparing to fulfill his military duty. On February 24, Woo Jin Young conveyed his enlistment plans to fans via Instagram.
He disclosed his imminent entry into basic training on March 4, addressing his supporters with the following message:
“Hello, I’m Woo Jin Young.
On March 4, 2024, I will start my military service after getting my enlistment notice. You may be surprised by the sudden news, but as a proud young man of Korea, I will come back healthy! I will do my best to greet you with a better and more mature Woo Jin Young.
Many of you who have cared for me and supported me, please wait for me as you spend happy and joyful days! Until the day I come back, stay healthy!”
Woo Jin Young found success in the latter and ranked number one in the competition, but the group never materialized due to failed contract negotiations between the show creator, YG Entertainment, and the artists’ respective agencies.
Woo released a collaborative extended play (EP) entitled [Present] in 2018 with singer Kim Hyun-soo. He competed in the rap competition series Show Me the Money in 2019 but failed to advance past the first evaluation round.
Subsequently, he debuted as a member of D1CE that same year. In 2021, he released his first solo mini-album [3-2=A], followed by his second album, Delicious, in 2022.
