The Wind Breaker anime, adapted from Satoru Nii’s manga, follows the journey of Haruka Sakura, a young man ostracized for his unconventional appearance and social ineptitude. Yet, his adversity makes him a formidable fighter, a skill he holds in high regard. Upon entering Furin High School, renowned for valuing strength over academics, Sakura is resolute in his singular ambition: to rise to the top.
A chance street brawl on the eve of his enrollment introduces Sakura to a group of future classmates who don’t shun him but instead stand by his side. They reveal the school’s true ethos to safeguard the town of Makochi, earning them the moniker “Bofurin.”
Though touched by the unexpected camaraderie and the town’s gratitude, Sakura accepts such kindness. As he confronts formidable adversaries alongside Bofurin, he learns to embrace their support, discovering a newfound purpose in fighting for others.
In Episode 11, Wind Breaker introduces Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ren Kaji, a stellar addition introduced in a stylish trailer. With over 120 voiced characters across 237 titles, Okamoto, a celebrated Japanese voice actor and singer affiliated with Raccoon Dog, brings depth to his roles.
Directed by Toshifumi Akai at CloverWorks, with series composition by Hiroshi Seko, character designs by Taishi Kawakami, and music by Ryo Takahashi, Wind Breaker promises a thrilling ride for fans of school delinquent anime, with new episodes airing every Thursday.
