Will Poulter is set to portray the Marvel superhero character of Adam Warlock in the upcoming Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3. The tease for Warlock’s inclusion in the MCU came way back in the second GOTG. In one of the mid-credits scenes at the end of the movie, we saw the high priestess of the Sovereign reveal the cocoon/birthing pod containing Adam Warlock — a result of her experimentation with who she plans to use as her weapon of revenge against the Guardians. The otherwise comical and ineffective Sovereign does have a significant boost to their arsenal with Warlock. The character is one of the most powerful superheroes in the Marvel comics. With his antagonistic origins, Warlock in the comics went on to make a switch to the good side.
So tremendous is Warlock’s might that he was also the holder of all the infinity stones at one point. However, we don’t know if Warlock will be a good or a bad character in the upcoming GOTG flick. While the character’s nature might not be obvious right now, one thing definitely is. Adam Warlock will be one of the mightiest forces to reckon with. The physical appearance of such a pinnacle of a specimen must reflect the brute strength too. For that reason, the actor portraying the role being absolutely jacked and ripped is also a must. Will Poulter knew that before taking on the role. Not only that but he’s also nailed the drastic body transformation required for such a role.
Will Poulter Won’t Recommend His Adam Warlock Diet & Training to Anyone
However, as swooning and impressive as Poulter’s training and transformation have been, the actor has recently shared the not-so-glorious parts about it all. Poulter recently opened up about his training in an interview with The Independent. Talking about meal prep and diet, Poulter said how the whole plan involved a lot of gym work. Along with this, he had a very, very specific diet. This included food in quantities one wouldn’t necessarily want to ingest. Other times, there was not enough food. The actor has gone over a series of different diets over the last few months.
The actor went on to talk about how he would not recommend others the same diet and training he underwent. He said that the training regimen was very difficult to talk about, considering it was Marvel, and things cannot be revealed out in the open. According to the actor, the most important thing is your mental and physical health. The aesthetic goals are only secondary. Otherwise, one might end up promoting something that is unhealthy and unrealistic if you don’t have the financial backing of a studio paying for your meals and training. Will Poulter feels that he is in a very privileged position in that respect. Due to this, he wouldn’t recommend anyone do what he did to get ready for that job.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will hit theatres worldwide on May 5, 2023.
