There’s good news for fans of Afa, The Wild Samoan! The wrestling legend recently underwent a successful heart procedure to replace his aortic valve.
On May 12th, WXW Wrestling announced on Facebook that Afa had a successful TAVR procedure on May 9th. This minimally invasive surgery replaced his aortic valve. Amazingly, he was discharged from the hospital just two days later!

The WXW post stated their relief and thanked everyone for their prayers and support. They acknowledged Afa still has back rehab to do, but they praised his strength and determination.
Afa’s son, Afa Jr., also known as former WWE Superstar Manu, recently took over WXW. He has plans to expand the wrestling promotion to cable television in Pennsylvania.
While the successful surgery is a major step forward, Afa’s recovery journey isn’t over. He will need to continue physical therapy to rehabilitate his back. However, knowing Afa’s fighting spirit, fans can be optimistic about his future health.
